My cigarette lighter has never been hooked up when purchased new i need to hook it up for charging purposes

If the release tab isn't on the top center of the ashtray it will be on either side of it..depress them both to release

cigarette lighter has ONE wire, attached to center contact on the back end, and grounds via the case, or a wire attached to the case and the other end to the support structure of the dashboard.

Check for power at fuse. If power is there a break in the wire going to cig lighter is broken. If no power than there is a blown fusible link by battery. Check fuses under hood also

Check the cigarette lighter fuse. This fuse powers the reader where it plugs into the ALDL terminal. If you want a factory manual with wire diagrams, try www.diyrepairmanuals.com for shop manuals.

You either have a bad sender, poor connection, or a bad guage. Replace the sender first.

There are two ways of going about it. The best way to do it would be to use a relay. Cut the 12v+ wire going to the cigarette lighter, hook one side up to terminal 87 and the other side to 30 of the relay. Ground pin 85 and hook up pin 86 to a switched ignition wire. Doesn't matter too much which ignition switched wire you use. The radio is near by and has a switched ignition wire you can tap off of. The relay draws very little current so it won't affect the other circuit. Doing it this way keeps the power to the cigarette lighter on the original circuit, but switches it on when the ignition is on. You can purchase an automotive relay like the one pictured at radio shack or any auto supply store for a few bucks.

Replace coolant level sensor in radiator. The wheel sensor may be the abs problem. You will need to hook to a diagnostics tool to find the cure. Check vac hoses to cruise unit for leak.

the fuse block is either located under the dash on the driver's side or in the engine compartment on drivers side
