I have a 06 mazda 3 2.0 that has a blown moter. Is there any other motor that will fit in it. I have been told that some fords will fit

No one has tried it with a Mazda, but a Ford Ranger 3.0 transmission will fit.

Sounds like blower switch see if both wires on motor blower motor, have power using test light the motor gets ground from blower switch

I don't know the precise location on your model but apart from a few Ford commercial vehicles that have the resistor mounted on the front inner wing they are almost exclusively buried in the cool incoming air stream of the heater unit. The resistors get very hot...

I haven't yet met a heater blower that employs a relay and yet most are amazingly reliable. If the resistor has failed you would still typically have the maximum fan speed when the resistor is switched out of the circuit.

You should still check it through systematically but my instinct from what you have already said is to suspect there is a safety thermal fuse fitted next to the motor and that it is blown.

I should bite my tongue because I suspected that last time a Ford was brought to me with no blower and it turned out to be one of the motor brush springs that had failed. Ford couldn't or wouldn't supply a replacement and so I had to fabricate a replacement rather than pay a rip-off price for a new motor.

If the thermal fuse has blown it will be because the motor has been getting too hot so it would be a good idea to clean it and oil the felt oil reservoirs before you refit the motor.

No it will not. Only a comparable engine from another mazda b2200 truck and I think the b2000 and possibly Miata, 2.2 engines were about the same from 1986-1993. You can pretty much count out just dropping in a motor from a different manufacturer for any make. Fords don't fit chevys, etc. etc., This would require you modify the entire drive train and quite possibly the electrical system, cooling system,etc. Definitely not worth the hassle involved.

Hi sdy138, I know you said that none of the fuses are blown but did you check the METER FUSE in the passenger junction box? I assume that the passenger junction box is located under the dash on the passenger side, or behind the kick panel. If that fuse is good then it may be the high or low wiper relay. Hope this helps.

Make sure connection for thick red wire going to starter is good if you had that much corrosion.

If you have a 4 cyl motor, that any 4cyl will fit from an MX-3 (and a few other vehicles actually).

If you have a V6, then you can use any other MX-3 1.8L OR MX-6 OR Ford Probe OR Millenia 2.5L V6 motor (160hp)! You can import the KLZE (200hp) from japan for around $1300 and it will also fit (2.5L V6).

The 6 cylinder that comes with it is a 1992 Mazda MX-3 1.8L MFI DOHC 6cyl

The motor is located just under the glove box on the passenger side. I remove the glove box then the panel below the glove box. I also go ahead and pull back the carpet and the padding under the motor. It is held in place by 3-4 bolts that take a 7-8 millimeter socket. I use a swivel extension for the back bolts. The motor with the fan blade attached is a tight fit, just keep wiggling and pulling it should come out. Try to remove the old moter without cracking the fan blade, because sometimes the replacement motor doesn't come with a blade

Mcbrayer dodge in aberdeen,n.c. put a timing belt on my 2000dodge stratus first. car keep runing hot put thrmostat later. they had all rady did water pump/front moter mount/water pump, fist$640./ second$124. keep going back sever time. they drive it say wasn't run hot with them.car quit had it tow back to them.labor day 2006.they stater working on my car in 7/10/06. the timing belt had broken the friday before labor day.they said my moter was gone it had deep cut in it. service manger or the service con. said they found me a moter for $2000.? I ask was they going to pay for it they laugh and said no. My son call and told them they old me a motor. I told them to pay the car off or fix it. I got a call on 9/23/08 telling me they still have my car down there.and i have a towing bill. I fill that they sould fix the car and stand by the moter for two years. i talk to loan place and they told me i could finish paying for the car.If they pay for it the dealer should give $800. off the [email protected]
