How hot is it getting in degrees F? Some electric fans won't even turn on, till around 220 degrees F. Does the fan turn on at all?
As far as overheating, does the coolant recovery reservoir fill up in a hurry?
Sometimes after opening up the cooling system, you get air in the system that may cause temp gage to react.
What about your thermostat? Did you check for coolant flow through the radiator? Another thought might be a head gasket issue, I'd check everything else first.

Thermastat and water pump changed but still overheating. why?

Could be a few things. Blockage in the radiator, blown headgasket, bad fan. Need to check for those or get a shop to have a look.

Changed thermostat temperature sensor and fan modulator. Still overheating no heat

If it's the2.2 , it's easy, as long as you buy a water pump holder. The water pump is internally driven bdesperate chain . The holder ,and the 4 bolts that cover the pump are used to hold the chain out of the way so you can change it.I If you aren't comfortable with the possibility of dropping the water pump chain down into the front if the engine, pay a pro. It's easy, but the possibility of turning a 100.00 job into a 800.00 is there.

Saturn is overheating, tried several things.. nothing is working.

how about the coolant temp sensor, they had alot of problems with that sensor and also the plug for it,some have two of these sensors side by side, one for the gauge and the other for the fan, i would replace these first and go from ther good luck,

Overheating

If you have seen the signs of leakage around the water pump thn its worth replacing it being that far already.
Its better too, to flush the radiator.
Usually if the seal blows thts the end of the pump even if it looks ok!

97 saturn sl2 temp light flashing and low coolant light flashing what could be the problem ? coolant is full and the heat works.

If the temp gauge is reading normal, the lights are flashing, and the coolant level is full, the level sensor in the coolant bottle is the problem. I'm a service consultant for a Saturn dealer and I've run across this many times.
