Bolt size for starter 92 tracker

mount starter mount
lost both?
they are both the same diameter.
the length is super easy, measure it.
the leaves, diameter, metric, 8 or 10mm and pitch
so using a box of random bolts with starter off
find one that fits, m8 or m10, or m12.
now you know the sizes, and with starter off the holes are right there. in front of you to test.
to get length, use drinking straw, and your thumb, nail
to find lenght fitted up by and then move straw to ruler, metric
ahhhhhh there is the lenght in 5min work.

if no bolts in the scrap box, at all, metric, buy some.

The bolt on the bottom of my alternator fell and is lost, i have to know the size of it to replace, anyone know the answer?

Use one of the other alternator bolts for testing, see if the threads are the same on the other bolt hole. If the bolt is a little long or short, just get a different length bolt from the hardware store.

If nothing else, use a tap and die set. If enough meat around the hole, drill the hole and retap the threads. Just a thought.

What size are the starter bolts on a 2002 dodge stratus. i broke one and it seems longer than the other

You mean metric diameter & thread pitch?

You will have to mic the diameter & convert
to metric or just match up at a store

As a guess only--dia may be 1/2 "or 12mm & length say
2" or 50mm

.0395 is (1) mm

Whatever you measure dia or length wise, you
divide by .0395 to go to metric

They heat treated bolts, not a Home Depot

Removing rear drum

You need to get a bolt with the same diameter and thread pitch as the brake drumretaining screws. On my 1997 Escort that's an 8mm x 1.25 thread pitch bolt. The length should be about 12mm. or larger. Don't get a bolt that's longer than about 20mm. The bolt goes into a hole in the brake drum, bearing down on a plate inside the hub. You can't use a brake drum retaining screw because you need to be able to apply more torque to the fastener than could be safely applied to a jacked vehicle
