It did work while the emergency brake was on,however went out whIle it was on after I started the 2004 chevy tahoe. Bulb replacement?

This car has regular shoes on the back not disc. Replace shoes and adjust cable. No parking brake is a sign of worn out shoes. Regals have rear disc on them for this year.

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

There are 2 screws on the tailgate side of the lens, and 2 plastic guide pins on the other side to line up
the lens when you reasemble. On the back of the lens turn the brake light socket 1/4 turn counter
clockwise. Remove socket and replace the bulb.

The door locks on my 1999 tahoe stopped working and I checked the fuse, which was fine. The problem turned out to be that the fuse for my cigarette lighter was bad and for some reason it also must be working in order for the door locks to work. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again!
