What does an AVF! code mean on a 2007 Honda Odyssey Mini van. The light came on and the van seemed to loose power like the transmission was stuck. After the clunk noise it went away.

SOURCE: 2007 honda odyssey warning light

That isn't the light for low tire pressure. Low tire pressure will have what looks like a tire- flat. It is your VSA someone probably hit the button and accidentally. look to the left of your steering wheel there is a button that says VSA push it and see if it turns it off. I notice that this post is pretty old, so you may already have gotten the answer from your dealer, but I'm posting in case someone has the same problem later on.

SOURCE: I don't know how to reset the maintenance light.

I ran into the same issue. Here's how to fix it.

While the car is off, push in on the odometer reset button and turn on the car.
Continue pushing in the odometer button until the light goes off.
Release the button after the light goes off (usually about 3-5 seconds)

SOURCE: 2007 honda odyssey oil change and

Have supplies ready(long stem funnel to reachfill hole, 4 qts honda genuine atf-z1, rags for drips)
1. First, park the car while its hot on a flat surface and turn the engine off. Locate the yellow transmission dipstick and remove it and wipe it clean.
2. Look for the the ATF fill plug and washer(below and to the left of the brake fluid reservoir) 17mm marked "ATF" and remove it.
3. Locate the drain plug(not the one on pointing towards the drivers front tire but its located on on the drivers side of the transmission pointing towards the passengers side and lying horizontally) and remove it along with the washer. Its blue and is a standard 3/8 square drive plug and remove it. Drain completely. (wait 15 min or so until ALL is gone and replace the plug after throughly cleaning the magnet that is attached to it).
5. Replace atf fluid(honda says 3.3 qts- but mine took 3.8 to bring to first hole in dipstick level-check while running(use honda z-1 fluid only-yes- its expensive).
6. Replace fill bolt and washer and tighten.
7. Replace dipstick, let engine get hot and recheck. Recheck again after driving a day or so.
Your done-good work, you saved a $100 dollars...

It can be changed for every 60000 miles..

SOURCE: 2002 Honda Odyssey TCS light comes on after driving approx 1 mile

There are several things that will turn the check engine light and TCS light on .If you get the code I can tell you exactly what the problem is . On your year i see transmission problems as well as EGR problems. If you go to any large auto parts store they will check the code for free or a very small fee.

My 1999 honda odyssey came out with code p1753 and code p1298 what does it mean

code p1298 refers to electrical load sensor--circuit/voltage high===causes wiring--under hood fuse box/relay plate--electrical load sensor--ECM programming---ECM

I would suggest taking it to a Honda service centre to have it checked out asap.

I get a code P0741 for 05 Odyssey EXL (96k miles). Is it safe to drive with this code? Doesn't seem like it's driving any different. Thought was the gas cap when C.E.L came on, but had run on...

The error is means there is an issue with the torque converter on the transmission. It may be stuck. It is safe to drive it but there may be issues with the milage.

I have a 2001 honda odyssey and the maintnace light is on what that means is van no good no more

the maintanance light can mean a variety of things from the gas cap not being on all the way to a bad spark plug the only way to tell what it means is to take it to a shop or a auto parts store and have them read the code or codes stored on the computer.

Is there a permanent fix for the common 2007 honda odyssey transmission problem? Not the softwear update, not the transmission fluid change, not the torque converter, and not the replacement transmission....

You pretty much summed up all van type vehicles made, for the last 30 years.

Having been in the trans repair business in the 1990's,I will say all transaxles in them are, to put it politely, not very good.

Get ride of it.

IF, you ever got into an accident with a van type veh, your quality of life,if you live, won't be too good.

TCS light comes on

the tcs is ur traction control system this reads the wheels and if one slips cuts down power to engine so as not to damage engine or trans also if awd will activate the other wheels for traction the sensors are usually part of the abs[anti-lock brakes] check connections and wires as well as the sensors at the wheels and transmission -since the light is intermittent which would indicate a short or a sensor is about to fail the vehicle will store the code as pending -have vehicle scanned some auto stores do this for free such as auto zone/ advanced auto check ur local area the code will tell u where the problem is coming from

2003 odyssey studders @ 50 -55 mph seems to studder more if i press on throttle then fall back to 50-55

1999-2003 Honda Odysseys have trouble with their transmissions. Google "honda odyssey transmission" and look at the wikipedia article that comes up for Honda odysseys. In about the fourth paragraph you will find out about the transmission problems. If your van is acting up, have the transmission checked out sooner vs. later. It won't get better on it's own. Have the diagnostic trouble codes retrieved from the car's computer--any code that starts with 17 as in "1740" or codes that start with zero like "0730" are transmission codes and signs of impending failure. I know because my 2002 with 165,000 miles just failed.

The D3 code on my 2007 honda odyssey is on what is the problem

Hi!
This is not a code. Instead it is an indication that you are running the van in "overdrive off" mode.

Your van is equiped with a 5 speed automatic transmission. By running in overdrive off you are essentially running in 3rd gear, out of 5 gears. This will cause your van to run at a much higher engine speed, while not going very fast at all and consuming a lot more gas than normal.

You can deactivate this mode by:
1) start the van
2) Press the break pedal
3) Shift to 'D' (drive mode)
4) press the little button that is located on the left side of the shifter, under the shifter button.

If the light does not go out after pressing this button, you may need to take the van to your Honda dealership. Your van should still be under warranty as it is a 2007 model.

Good luck!
