What about the fuel filter????? Have you changed it out??? If you can spary something like a started fluid, that means it is a fuel problem. My last check, it has to be above 50-psi on the fuel pressure to make it run right. I had 35psi, but whould not get over 30mph or down hill maybe 45mph. Check both filter & pressure, but check pressure with a New fule filter!!!!

try bypassing the oil pressure switch on the back of the block behind the distributor, if there oil pressure switch goes bad it will do this. had one that drove me nuts trying to fix it then figured out I had to buy a book and low and behold thee it was 3 wire oil pressure switch you can't see between the engine and fire wall just behind the distributor and costs 8 bucks to buy new.

Had a knocking noise in the bottom end replace with short block now getting a lot of oil in the intake causing to blow white oil smoke. Double check all hoses with pcv and all hose are hooked up correctly.

Was short block used or remanned?...either way it sounds like its having oil blowby bottom end issue and PCV system is sucking it into intake

Can i put a 1999 chevy blazer motor and transmission in my 1995 chevy blazer?

Yes, it's involved though. You would have to use the PCM (or ECM), and wiring harness's for both the engine and transmission. You would have to get wiring diagrams for both vehicles (eautorepair.net $29 year). Then you would have to look over each wiring diagram and interface the newer wiring diagram to the older vehicle. Not impossible but requires a knowledgeable mechanic.

Probably easier and cheaper to get a reman short block and overhaul or replace your 1995 transmission.

How do i find the freeze out plugs on a 1990 s-10chevy blazer

You are looking for a round hole in your engine casting that is filled with a plug. Most of them, and there are several, will be about 11/2 inches round and set into the block about 1/4 inch. There should be 3 down each side of the block midway between the head and the oilpan. There are 1 each at each end of the heads and 1 at the back of the cam and a couple under the timing chain cover and a couple behind the engine under the bell housing. I'm probably mssing some.
If you are looking to put it a block heater, usually the middle one on the driver's side is the easiest or the middle one on the passenger side. The middle one is best as the heat gets distributed a little more evenly.
If you need to change one that is leaking, measure carefully before you knock it out to be sure you get the right one to put back in. They are various sizes in 1/8 or even 1/16 increments.
Hope this helps.

Overheated, mechanic replaced heads (perhaps on wrong sides?), then knocking began in engine (not there before). so can the heads be put on wrongly? and if so, what problems would it cause? thnk that the...

During an overheat, coolant can enter the engine and goes into the oil pan. This in itself can damage the crank bearings. If the oil was not changed before the engine was re-started after the repair, the very first thing to circulate through the oiling system is coolant.(oil will float on top)
The reality of this is that proving when that happened is nearly impossible unless the oil has still not been changed.
Heads are generally interchangeable and if not, the accessories on the front cannot be mounted.
Bottom line is you need to replace the engine or short-block. Very expensive and better done by a more reliable shop.

Where are the freeze plugs for a 1997 blazer

Freeze plugs are about half way between the bottom of the block and the top. They look like large bottle caps that have been plugged into holes in the side of the engine.

The bolts that hold the fuel tank straps both snapped. how do i get access to the top halves and where can i find replacements 1997 Chevy Blazer 4 door

Replacements should be available from the dealer-if not then a salvage yard. You can bring as much of the bolt as you can extract to Napa or a Hardware store and see if you can find a match. To get the other half of the bolt removed, you can try using vice-grips to turn from the bottom (unless the head is still in the other half-if this is the case, you can purchase a multi-positional head rachet handle to gain access to those hard to reach places).
