Generally, the one common cause of stalling is lack of fuel. Low fuel pressure, or a restriction in the fuel delivery, or a problem with the throttle position sensor are typical faults. Is the check engine light on ?
Check for wear or other faults all of the following: The belt, fan clutch, Check A/C compressor&clutch for damage. Check A/C compressor for damaged or faulty temperature switch switching compressor off and on too rapidly, or low oil level.Check A/C hoses for metal A/C Lines vibrating against other components under the hood, or faulty blower motor bushings. Hope this helps you out.
I would chk the tps throttle position sensor it may not be gettting the proper reading when you tromp on it and also air cleaner it might not sound like much but the engine goes by the readings it gets from the sensors and if it is reading lack of air it will dump more gas into the cylinder and the spark plu g can't burn off all the gas in the cylinder, you might want to change wires and plugs too as a precaustionary step
That "speaker looking thing" above the drivers head on the headliner is a part of the climate control system.
Here is the GM bulletin regarding it if you are running in to these issue:

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern: Dealer or customer may comment that they have a buzz or vibration noise emanating from the headliner in an area that looks like microphone or a speaker.
Recommendation/Instructions: The plastic escutcheon grill, which is round and about the size of a half dollar and located just above the driver to the left, is the interior ambient temperature sensor. The sensor is used in conjunction with the automatic HVAC (C68). On occasions, this sensor has been known to make a buzz or rattle sound. The sensor uses a small fan to pull air over the sensor. This buzz noise may be intermittent.
Although it may not be possible to alleviate all of the buzz or noise from this sensor, Engineering has found that if the sensor is installed incorrectly that it may bind and cause the fan to make a buzz noise. Remove the sensor and while doing so check for any binding. Reinstall the sensor and re-test. If the noise is still present, the sensor itself may be noisy and require replacement.
Did you hear a little rythmic squeaking noise under the dash by the driver's right knee? Is the noise now gone? There is a little oscillating air flow gate there that often goes bad...I can't remember the name of the part, for the life of me, but the dealer has them.
fuel pump or fuel filter. have someone kneel near fuel tank and listen for buzzing noise when ignition is turn on if you hear the sound i would change filter
Check the timing chain..Take the belt of and turn the crank by hand and see how much slop there is when you turn it back and forth..If theres not much then there could be a cam problem. But most of the time its the timing chain..Hope this helps you and have a great night....
