You will need an error code to determine the exact fault. Is the transmission due for a service? It may simply need new fluid, filter and adjusting. 142536 rh bank as you look from rear of engine ie: drivers seat rh cylinders 123 lh 456 jaguar changed cyljnder numbering about mid 2000s which confused things a little before it was 135 246 the ecm still recorded misfires etc with cyl numbers.but at the time was not easy to decide which cylinder was at fault and looking to replace plugs or on plug coils some techs got it wrong and with the coils not cheap we had to be carefull so no1 is the rh bank at front on all cheers.

It could be a bad Transmission Range Sensor, bad starter relay, the Passive Antitheft System, the General Electronic Module, Clutch Switch (Manual Transmission), The Engine Control Module, the Instrument Panel Cluster, or one or more of the several fuses that power the above components.

front pump seal is leaking or oil pan seal is leaking and hitting the exhaust pipe. time for a transmisson oil change and fliter replacement. costs about $200.00 at any tranny shop.

your fluid needs topping up, auto matic transmissions actually use the oil to drive, not friction plates as in normal manual transmissions

The 1993 and 1994 XJ6 Fuel Pump Relay is located in the trunk of the vehicle on the right hand rear side. It is light blue and black in color.
