Pulled radiator out of 98 saturn and new radiator has 2 fittings right below the top hose that the old one dont have

If the holes are in the side tank, they are for the automatic trans. linesIf you have a 5 speed that is not needed and will be no problem using it.

How do i replace the radiator in a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0 non-turbo?

Hi,

Drain engine coolant
Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses from radiator
Disconnect transmission cooler hoses (if automatic)
Remove overflow hose from radiator neck
Set coolant jug and bracket aside
Remove two 12mm bolts holding upper insulators on
Unplug electrical connectors for cooling fans
Lift radiator up out of vehicle.

Alternately, you can unbolt the two cooling fans from the radiator and leave them in. They are held on with four 10mm bolts. It is easier to leave the fans installed for a first timer though

RADIATOR

It's not hard, just time consuming. There are two different radiators available at aftermarket parts places,as i also have a Mitsu and have replaced the radiator. The 2 available is a direct fit which is about $100 more than the "universal fit".The universal fit is harder to install, but works fine.First, disconnect the negative terminal on the battery to avoid any electrical problems. With engine COLD,remove radiator cap.Locate the "petcock" drain valve on the bottom of the radiator, and open it up.Catch the coolant for proper disposal with a container. While it is draining, remove the fan assemblies by disconnecting the electrical connectors, then backing out all the fasteners that hold the fans to the radiator.Mine were all 10 mm bolts, and there are some on the top and bottom of the rad..Now the fans can be lifted out of the engine bay and out of the way.Now loosen the upper and lower radiator hose clamps, and remove the hoses from the radiator. If auto trans, the cooler lines must also be disconnected. Now remove the radiator retainers on top,and lift the radiator up and up.Reverse procedure to reinstall.I would also reccommend new upper and lower radiator hoses too while right there at them,as well as a gallon of new anti freeze, then top off with water.
