SOURCE: lincoln ls transimission fluid

It is located on the transmission pan. Their is a "fluid level check screw" that you will need to take out. You aren't going to be able to just dump a quart of fluid in and be good though. These transmissions are designed under normal driving conditions to never have to be serviced and that includes the fluid. But if your like me, you like to hot rod it once in a while. Then you should change your fluid every 45,000 miles or so. The drain plug is at the very bottom of the pan. You are gonna need a little over 11.5 quarts of Mercon(R) V Transmission fluid for the 3.0 as well as the 3.9 liter. The amount of fluid needed for the transmission is the same regardless of the engine you have.
Hope this post will help someone in the future. Also their is no dipstick to check the fluid level. You have to take the screw/bolt out on the side of the Tranny Pan.

How to check tranny fluid in a 2000 lincoln ls

Transmission Fluid Level Check Lincoln LS (2000-2006)
Our research indicates that your vehicle does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has check valve on the bottom of the transmission on the bottom of your car. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and we therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid. Any fluid leaks for this type of transmission should be treated by a mechanic.

No dipstick on the transmission, you have to check it under the transmission, where do i put the fluid in? V8 Lincoln LS automatic

According to Jeff on CarGurus.com http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t7463_ds502499 "Remove the smaller bolt on the bottom of the transmission pan. Then remove the small bolt at the back of the case and add fluid there until it starts to run out the bottom of the case where the other bolt was removed. When it starts running out it is full. "

What is the maintenance schedule for the 2000 Lincoln LS automatic transmission? how do you check fluid levels? what type of fluid is used? Proper maintenance is the key to keeping vehicles running good...

Fluid change every 50 to 60,000 miles. There is no dipstick, you fill it thru the plug in the pan. You also check the fluid with the plug in the pan. With the engine running remove the center of the drain plug. Fluid should run from the plug when its full. Use Mercon 5 fluid.

Need to know how to check and add transmission fluid

There should be a dipstick somewhere close to your firewall. Start the car and let it warm up then pull the dipstick and check the level. if it is low using a funnel add transmission fluid through the dipstick hole.

Where is the transmission fluid located

Tranny fluid- there should be a dipstick with a handle on it under the hood somewhere. They usually say transmission on the handle. Check the fluid while the motor is running, there will be marks on the dipstick to tell you the correct level.
Brake fluid- simply pull the cap off of the resivor and make sure the fluid is to the top.
