The fluid in the versa trak AWD in the rear is old and needs to be drained and refilled. After you drain and refill it, make a bunch of sharp left and right hand turns, then drive it for 10 minutes. Drain and refill it for the second time and problem solved. Use only versa trak fluid available at any GM dealership. There is TSB on this now at the Buick dealership.

Hi. I own a 2004 Buick Rendezvous and I must say, it's the best car I've ever owned. Recently, like within the last 2 months I've had a groaning noise with every left turn. My husband filled...

he filled the PS fluid? it was low? If so it has a leak somewhere, usually the high pressure line. the rattle could be anything, have the front end and steering linkage checked. tie rods, sway bar links, ect.

Groaning noise from rear of vehicle when turning cxl awd

Our Rendezvous groans, too. Our mechanic told us it was NOT a wheel bearing, but the rear differential. They recommended that we take it to a reputable transmission garage for service.

I have a sound in my rear part of my buick rendezvous when I try to park and turn the wheel almost to maximun. What can be that.

Hello: If your truck is a all wheel drive it could be the rear differential making noise. You will have to troubleshoot it more. Try turning max either way in an open parking lot if you hear a humming from the rear you have a problem. Sometimes you can service it but it will only be a temp repair.

Car groans when turning corners

You need to describe the problem better. Does it groan only when moving and turning, or will it make the same noise just sitting there turning the steering wheel. If it only makes noise when moving, that rules out a ps problem, the ps doesnt know if you are moving or not. Does it make different noise if you are going to the right or left, same noise, different? I dont know about the reservoir, some of them have filters, but I dont know if Buick does or not. If it was, it would cause a whine, not a groan.

96 Grand Am Groaning

Sounds like the power steering pump failing. If it seems to be worse when you turn the wheel at a stop, it is time for a new p/s pump.

Loud groaning noise while turning left

Hi

The groaning noise is the power steer pump operating under duress. I would suggest having the front suspension checked for any seized or failing ball joints or control arm problems. Most suspension guys will give the undercarriage a look over for you for free to check for any failing/unsafe parts. The engine belt driving the power steer pump should also be checked in case it needs adjustment.
