Yes the light will have to be reset. If you cant reset by disconnection the battery for a couple minutes you will need to have it done with a scanner. Also usually its not the sensor that throws the code. Its usually a stuck open thermostat. If you have a gauge look to see if its been running on the colder side lately. Sometimes the engine will warm up normally but going down the freeway it will cool off to about 160 degrees when in fact its should be around 200 degrees. A scanner will show this while driving if you only have a idiot light. This is a sign of a bad thermostat

Code P0115 Check Engine light on, fan runs continuously at high speed

The ECT sensor needs a power and ground to operate. It uses resistance to create a signal that is sent back to the computer. You can use a volt meter and check the plug for a 5 volt reference on one wire and the other wire will be a ground. If no 5 volt reference, look for a burned out fuse or broken/damaged wiring. A scan tool that shows data would be very helpful in knowing what the sensor is reading. The sensor may be reading properly and the problem may be due to a low coolant level or defective thermostat

Engine management fault fitted map sensor and still wont start

Check that the hose for the MAP sensor is not disconnected or blocked. Then check that the vacuum port for the hose is clear on the engine side. After that, start looking at a shorted wire.

1500 series isuzu truck 2009 has check engine light on and cruise control not working

with new gen cars/trucks they show fault code in the form of a eng light on ! If the eng light is on there is a fault on diagnostics = eng management, air flow meter, feul pressure sensor, injectors etc.the trick is to find it ? workshops use a Diagnostic tool (Gen2) for Isuzu, mabe u could ask a alternative tool (launch master)also a diagnostic tool /most aftermarket workshops should be able to diagnose the problem. (this is also the reason your cruise control will not work because of the Eng Light.

Citroen c3 error code a17

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPEDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

I have a Mitsubishi 2007 Triton Cab/Chassis vehicle,I would like to shut off the engine management light permanently if possible. It comes on at start and stays on some of the time and then at other times...

Hi Barry,
I'm afraid you may have misunderstood my ad. I do not have any "magic fixes" that will get the light to turn off. I only offer help with performing diagnosis and repair to those who would like to save money. Diagnostic time at a shop is expensive, as you probably already know. The way I can help you is to avoid the diagnostic time at the shop and diagnose the problem yourself and perform the repairs necessary to correct the problem with your engine management system without replacing a bunch of UNNECESSARY parts trying to GUESS what the problem is.

Here is the next problem. I need to know which engine your Triton is equipped with and which fault code numbers you are getting. There is no way to look up the correct diagnostic procedure or wiring diagrams or anything else we may need without this information.

Also, Triton is not sold in the USA. The Triton platform is sold in the USA as a Mitzubishi Raider. I have diagnostic and repair information for the Raider, but none for the Triton. They are probably very similar, but I won't know for sure until we get into diagnosing your truck.....wire colors, component locations, etc., may be a lot different.

If you would like to continue and see if we can get your truck fixed, let me know.

Faulty sensors in my hyundai accent.

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

1995 millenia fault codes PO400 and PO 115what has to be done to fix these.

The P0400 has to do with a fault in the EGR (Exhaust Gas recirculation) system. The possible cause is leak or blockage, wiring, EGR Valve or EGR solenoid or the ECM.
P0115 has to do with the ECT (Engine coolant sensor) possible causes for this fault is wiring or the Engine coolant sensor itself or the ECM.
I believe I have the testing for both of these if you need them. Send me your email and I will send you the test procedures if you are familiar with how to use Ohm meter and a vacuum tester.
