2001 Dodge Stratus fuse in junction block was missing. It is the one marked as Gauges(prndl)but everything was working. Could other components being damaged from this?

What if any problem could this create as far as other components? A wiring diagram shows a circuit going to AC/Heater control, the Ignition switch and Data Link connector. I think the instrument cluster is part of it also.

SOURCE: Need to replace instrument cluster/AC bulbs

Hello, You can obtain a 2004 Ram Factory Service Manual with all of that information available from Promanuals.net. The reason why it may be so important is because right before the removal instructions the service manual has diagnostic instructions to try. There are numerous pages on removing the instrument cluster, and cluster bezel.

(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable. (For Airbag)

(2) Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument
panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
CLUSTER BEZEL - REMOVAL).

(3) Remove the four screws that secure the instrument
cluster to the instrument panel structural support
(Fig. 5).

(4) Pull the instrument cluster rearward far
enough to access and disconnect the instrument
panel wire harness connectors for the cluster from
the connector receptacles on the back of the cluster
housing.

(5) Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument
panel.

SOURCE: Instrument panel lights out on 01 Dodge Grand

These vans have had issues with the PIN connections to the instrument clusters. With time the solder on the main PIN connection will begin to fail. The good news this may be repaired at home. First you'll need to remove the instruments. To do so remove the dash components from around the instruments then the (4) screws) that hold the instruments in place. Carefully detach the wire connection from the back of it; take to a well lit area. Look for a PIN with a failed solder joint (this will appear as a slight black or grey circle. If found apply heat and let solder be gin to flow; the allow to cool and reassemble. If you look at my history you'll see I've helped others with this issue. We believe the problem is in the juction box but can not find it. we have checked every fuse in side the car and the fuse box in by the engine. my radio, dome light, brake lights, power locks have suddenly...

The problems you speak of are common in early model Dodge Stratus vehicles. I have a 2000 that is experiencing the same issues and was told to replace the junction box by the dealer. The worst part is, the junction box and associated parts are no longer made. I was told to go to the junkyard but be careful since you will need a junction box from a car that has all of the same options your car has or certain features will not work.

My gauges, gas, speed, temperature have all stopped working.. the lights are still on.. i have a 98 chevy malibu.. are there fuses that control that or are there a plug for those gauges.. if a fuse where is...

First, Please review this article: Where's The Fuse?

Then, Yes, there is a fuse that powers your gauges. Actually, there are two of them. They are both located in the left wiring harness junction block. (On left side of dash) One is marked "IPC/BFC ACC" and the other is marked "IPC/HVAC BATT". Both are red 10 Amp fuses.

My horn and my cigarette liter stopped working all of a sudden

The horn and cigarette lighter share a common fuse, so that is most likely the cause of your problem. The fuse is number 8 in the junction block, located under the left side of the interment cluster (under the dash). Good Luck!
