Turns over but will not start

Often this is a Inertia switch that has disconnected power to the fuelpump. It has a reset button on it. It is located either in the trunk next to the Air-ride control or in the cabin around the front floor kick panels.

Cranks but wont start

This problem can be from the Inertia sensor. On Lincolns, the Inertia switch is usually close to the Air-ride cut-off switch in the trunk. Or behind a front floor kick panel.

There is a reset button on the switch. Check photos on the Web if you want to see what you are looking for.

Will not start

The most frequent cause is the Inertia switch. Usually in a car with Air-ride the switch is located in the trunk next to the Air-ride switch. It has a reset button.
Other styles of Inertia switches are behind the front floor kick panels. Do an Internet search for "2001 Lincoln LS Inertia switch location".
If you mean the Engine did not crank over- A common problem is a switch on the top of the brake pedal lever. Often the brake lights will not work with this defect. Press the pedal and see.
The brake pedal switch often gets hit by a drivers foot and breaks or gets repositioned.

Depending on which gas line was replaced, the inertia switch may need to be reset. Also he may have turned off the fuel pump in the trunk and forgot to turn it back on. There are switches near the air ride controls in the trunk.
