My interior dome light won't go off in my 1997 Chevy lumina please help!! Don't want my battery to go dead :(

Check fuses
I found fuse box diagram which one of the fuses is for Theft-Deterrent Module, Radio. I would go through and check fuses

check your battery first, then check your ignition switch, then check your spark plugs and wires.

you can buy a car key program tool , remember the year and the model of your car ,then buy a new one for your car

You can look this up in the owners manual, if you don't have one you can download one free HERE.

The body control module is the problem it is drawing the battery voltage down,and causing the lighting malfunction

on your brake pedal there is a switch that controls your brake lights over time it comes to lose just enough for the switch won't come in contact with the pedal

Better check the battery as it sure sounds like its dead. The charging system could be at fault also A brand new battery can run down and need a charge if the charging system isnt doing its job Hope this helps you .Good luck!

check your battery connections at the battery and where the negative cable connects to the frame.. does any accessories come on .. dome light, idiot lights on dash? door chime? if so when you attempt to start the car does it click.. grind.. if dome lights are on before are the dimmer or off after you attempt to start?

your door pin switch is most likely bad. it is what turns it on and off.
