SOURCE: 1999 chevy suburban misfire

could be one of several things
1) run a compression check, if it low on that cyl then you have a blown head gasket or burnt valve
2) could be the enjector

SOURCE: how to replace an ignition cylinder lock

Hi,

1) Disconnect and isolate Negative (Ground) battery terminal
2) Wait full 2mins for Airbag system capacitors to discharge (must disable airbag before working near steering column)
3) Insert key and turn to ON position (not start)
4) Release & remove cylinder barrel by pressing the release with a suitable tool (access through hole in the lower shroud)
5) Withdraw cylinder barrel from shroud and disconnect wiring loom from cylinder.

Installation of new barrel is the reverse of above.

NB: YOU MUST ALWAYS DISABLE THE AIRBAG FIRST !

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Why is my # 4 cylinder missing on my 2004 chevy trailblazer

Most likely solution is to replace the s[ark plugs and check the ignition coils boots. The #4 cylinder plug has probably has a carbon track down the side of the porcelain part of the plug which will cause the cylinder to misfire.

How to bypass passlock on 1999 chevy blazer

The most common repair is to replace the ignition lock cylinder due to broken wires inside the steering column. Most common problems related to the Passlock family involve the Passlock sensor. The sensor is part of the ignition lock cylinder on Passlock I and Passlock II systems. ( Where the key goes ), Good-Day!

Chevy trailblazer 2004 ignition replacement, my key won't go into it to be replaced because of a botched theft. Please help????

Unfortunately, there is no easy, quick or inexpensive fix for this. The vehicle will have to be towed into a repair shop that can drill out the existing lock cylinder and install a replacement. Once the lock cylinder is replaced, the theft deterrent system must be reprogrammed with new key information.

What years of 1999 Chevy Cavalier are compatible with ignition cylinder. Looking for any compatible years or models??

1995 to 2001 Cavalier & Pontiac Sunfire ignition lock cylinders are the same. Be advised that your car has an anti theft system. If you plan on installing a used cylinder from another car, you will need to have the replacement cylinder "coded" to your original key OR have a key with the same resistor value as your original key, cut for the replacement cylinder [new or used] Without doing this, the car will not start.
