More then likely its the Canister Purge Solenoid. you can find it online at www.autozone.com the part number is PV140. And to replace it on blazer you have to remove the spare tire. Alot of people don't know where this part is so I hope this helps you and good luck.

did you try a vent solenoid? this is located behind left rear wheel in fender.

http://www.obd-codes.com/p0440 you may find the answer here or at least what to check. It sounds like the code is intermittent which probably means something is going out just has not yet. My guess is you may have a leak in a hose( maybe a split or crack in hose)

First things first. Do you have a volt meter to check the battery voltage? What engine do you have?
Let me know.

If the battery has gone dead, it could cause the security system to go into full lock-up mode. If it has locked up the accessories will work after the battery is charged back up , but the power to the starter will be cut off and it wont turn over. You need to do the 30 minute learn procedure. A GM dealer will print it out for you and you can do it yourself. It's very simple if you follow the procedure exact. hope this helps and good luck.
