Electrical plugs on the outside of the interior of the car have weather pack seals. Meaning that floods and rain water will not penetrate the seal. Pressure washers will, 2000+ PSI. Electrical in side the car have none, not even for the computers. Biggest reason insurance totals out cars for flood. Very labor intensive to go threw the interior electrical flooded car. Plus it always come back.

The major problem with flooded or water immersed cars is the electronics and electric components
water short circuits all the systems as the battery is still connected
besides that when an engine is under water, the silt in the water gets to every where even behind the rings, into bearings, oil passages--everywhere
for your problem replace the starter relay and starter motor but your waste of money will not end there
Insurance would have covered the replacement / loss of the car and it is recorded as water immersed in the insurance data base so it is now ******* to resell it unless you tell the buyer that it is water damaged
Best idea is to wreck it for what ever spares you can or simply junk it

Spray the cylinders with a good quality penetrating oil such as PB Blaster and let sit over night, spray again and let sit over night again. On the third day put a breaker bar and socket on the crank bolt and work back and forth and pray it comes loose.

Subaru 2.5 L flood Aug 2016. I have drained the oil incl 2 quarts water. Pulled the plugs and tried to turn over engine to expel water in cyls. New bat. will not turn over starter. Sugestions?

You may have a blown head gasket. Should be no water in the oil. If you have anti freeze in the oil you may have seized the motor. Get it checked out and do not try to start.

Where is location of engine block heater on subaru forester?

The location is a on the bottom of the engine block, just above where the oil dipstick enter the oil pan. If it does not have a block heater already installed, there will be a plug that takes a 14mm allen wrench/socket. Coolant must be drained to avoid being covered in it when the plug is removed.

How to change the auto trans oil & filter

get a pro full flush or only 1/3 the ATF will be changed.

drop pan, (huge flood if no drain plug)
replace filter.
put back new gasket with pan. (add drain plug now if missing)
connect full flush system to lines on trans.
turn on flush sys.
then follow instructions on said system.

the DIY way (done many a time.
is same but add in back the same exact oil drained
then drive 10 miles.
drain/fill again,(plug pull) if not pink
repeat until ATF looks pink/red, or till tummy feels happy.

Engine trouble

Sounds pretty serious. If the truck is in decent condition you might want to check into a good used engine.

Okay, so the oil pan gasket on my dads topaz was leaking, and beings that ive replaced the tranny pan gasket, the starter, the solenoid, the pcv valve, the battery and a whole load of other stuff, i figured i could easily enough replace the oil pan. Well, I pulled the starter, disconnected the radiator hose, drained the radiator, drained the oil, undid all the bolts (that i could find) etc. Well Basically, the pan gasket is stuck toot he transmission somehow, i can move it around, by any attempts too pull it out result in me cursing because the darn thing wont move, it swings an inch too each side, a good half inch up and down, but it just wont come out. So If any of you can help me with this that'd be great, cuz I need this car running again so my dad can get too work tomorrow morning. Not too mention the potential consequences if I wrecked his car, even though i was following his order too fix it................not lookin so good eh? :/
