My 2006 chev impala is clicking down at starter but is not turning the motor over, it only does this every once in awhile. Can it be a starter relay problem ?

Either a connection problem or starter going out.

Loosen, then tighten the battery to starter cable at the starter. I just did it and fixed it. When the starter worked it sounded fine. Connection/corrosion.

Probably the starter or starter solenoid, battery positive cable to the starter or connections at the battery and the starter . The way to find the problem would be using voltage drop testing . Voltage Drop Testing the Starter

2007 Chevy Impala, clicking noise starts BEFORE key in ignition. Why?

If your 2007 Chevy Impala is making a clicking noise before the key is even inserted into the ignition, it could be caused by a few different issues. Some potential causes include:
  1. Faulty starter motor: The starter motor is responsible for starting the engine when the ignition is turned on. If the starter motor is faulty or has worn out, it may make a clicking noise as it tries to engage with the flywheel.
  2. Loose or damaged starter motor relay: The starter motor relay is an electrical component that sends power to the starter motor when the ignition is turned on. If the relay is loose or damaged, it may cause a clicking noise.
  3. Low battery: If the battery is low on charge or has gone bad, it may not have enough power to start the engine, causing a clicking noise.
  4. Other electrical issues: There may be other electrical issues, such as a loose connection or a problem with the ignition switch, that are causing the clicking noise.
To determine the cause of the clicking noise, it is recommended to bring your vehicle to a mechanic or a dealership for further diagnosis and repair. They will be able to test the starter motor, battery, and other electrical components to determine the source of the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.

2006 pt cruiser. It ran, stood for around 2month and won't crank up. I hear the fuel pump, the starter will not move, I replaced the starter and still no crank or move on the starter.

Can you hear a relay clicking when you turn the key over to "Start"? if not then a faulty relay could be the reason the starter motor is not cranking over. Is the starter solenoid "clicking in" but the engine not turning over? if so , can you turn the engine over by hand?

Wont start after it gets warm

This is an interesting fault. The click you hear is the relay, that puts power on the starter motor, but you do not hear the starter motor turn. (Or do you?)
First suspect is the battery, they do get old and tired, but you say after a while it cools down and starts, so its probably not the battery. Check the cables to and from the starter motor, and the fat earth cable from the engine to the body (in the engine bay) make sure they are undamaged, clean and the connections are not loose. IF all looks ok I suspect the starter motor. remove the starter motor and clean it.

My 2006 buick lacrosse wont start radio and lights work but its not saying nothing when i try to crank it

Hello! Do you hear a click when the key is turned?...If no click is heard either the ignition key, the Crank relay, the starter, or the battery are suspect...Having lights and radio does not mean the battery is capable of running a starter motor......Put a meter on the battery...should read 12.5 volts...Turn key...Does voltage drop to 8 or 9 volts? Bad battery...If all is well with battery and connections to it...Check the starter fuse # 33 in the under hood fuse/relay box...If the fuse is good that click you should hear is from the Crank Relay in that box...If all of the above is OK connect your meter to the Purple wire that is connected to the starter motor...When the key is turned 12 volts must be on that wire...If there is the starter motor is defective...So, #1...Do you hear a click when key is turned...That would point at a bad starter or weak battery...#2...If you do not hear a click bad fuse #33, bad Crank Relay, bad ignition switch...#3...If fuse is good Bad Crank Relay or Ignition switch; Crank Relay is a low cost item ($10)...Replace Relay...Stop there and send a comment as to results...Guru...saailer

2006 impala passlock cliking in starter

If the starter clicks but doesn't turn, then it's a bad starter solenoid or bad starter motor which will have to be replaced.
If a relay under the dash seems to be clicking, and the starter doesn't operate, it could be a bad relay.

Need the drivers manual for a 2006chev impala

There are no down loads, but you can find them pretty cheap on Ebay. just go into ebay and input manual 2006 impala.

I just went in and did it and got 20 results starting at 9.99 buy it now.

It is much cheaper than the dealer.
