How much time does it take to remove and install auto trans on 2003 jaguar s type

when changing auto trans fluid you can never get all the fluid out of the torque converter thats why it seems less! but i think you should check with engine running @2003 4.2 ltr nomally had a mercedes gearbox with a non user friendly dipstick or is it a zf box? may be if a zf what you have got thats checked rh side if gearbox undeside with running between 60c to 80c temp worked thru the jgate you need a short 8mm allen wrench

There are no sealed transmissions

All transmissions have a drain & fill
procedure

You can have it flushed,but I would never
allow anyone to disconnect any trans lines,
to do so, you chance dibris from flushing to cause
harm to transmission

If you have not changed trans & power steering fluids
on all your vehicles every 3 years, your almost sure to
have a failure at some point in time

your thermostat is sticking and is causing the ecu to give a overheating code.Change it immediately...its located at the front of the engine inside the coolant piping that comes together like a y....It has 3 torque head screws holding it one...They sell the thermostat at autozone and discount auto parts...it may have a small copper insert with a bee bee inside it..just remove the copper piece and it will fit perfectly...temp range is 184-193 as specified by jaguar...Good luck and keep me posted.

Fill through the dipstick tube with a funnel.

that light is a code. go to auto zone. get it found out for free.

Have to first remove the plastic cover under the windshield wipers in order to have access to the cabin air filter. It is held together by plastic expansion plugs and four torx bolt covered by rectangular cover. Then remove the windshield wiper and presto air filter.

To Remove BELTS : Drive Belt :
Disconnect battery ground cable
Remove wheel and tire
Detach accessory drive belt
detention drive belt
detach accessory drive belt
Remove accessory drive belt
slacken the tensioner
remove accessory belt drive

Install in reverse order
WATER PUMP BELT : Remove battery tray
Remove water pump belt
De-tension water pump belt
Remove water pump belt

Installation in reverse
