The V50 1.6DRIVe (2011) shows the interval changed from 150,000 miles/240,000 km to 140,000 km/87,000 miles or 10 years (whichever comes first), but get the answer from the horse's mouth and call your Volvo dealership.

Also, look at post #15, though the remark about Volvo not issuing a recall so they will do it with a service is100% valid. No engine should have a belt as it's a 'cash cow' and will cost a fortune if your pistons say "hello" to the valves, which basically means your engine is a write-off:

SOURCE: does the volvo 2000 s40 have a timeing belt or

The 1.9 Liter has a cam belt which MUST be replaced at 105,000 miles. Also replace the water pump which is driven by the cam belt to save labor costs later one. This is an INTERFERENCE engine and as such if the belt breaks you will have serious engine damage. Therefore do not neglect this service.

Do a 2011 ford fiesta se sedan 1.6L have a timing belt or chain?

The 2011 Ford Fiesta SE sedan with a 1.6L engine has a timing chain, not a timing belt.

In an internal combustion engine, the timing chain or belt is responsible for synchronizing the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft(s). It ensures that the valves in the engine open and close at the correct times in relation to the movement of the pistons.

Timing belts are typically made of rubber and are prone to wear and deterioration over time, while timing chains are made of metal and tend to last longer. However, timing chains can still stretch or develop other issues and may need to be replaced at some point during the life of the vehicle. It is generally recommended to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule for replacing the timing chain to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.

Is the transit connect 04 plate cam belt or cam chain can anyone tell me please

My information is it has a belt driven camshaft, it is after all a development of the old escort diesel though the replacement intervals are somewhat extended with 100,000 miles or 120 months, whichever occurs first, being the recommended interval though the Haynes manuals persist in suggesting timing belts are changed at 40,000 miles.

I certainly suggest doing a visual check whenever routine maintenance makes it convenient to do so and then change the belt should it appear dusty, frayed or oily. If there are no recorded belt changes I always change a belt when the information printed on the belt is no longer visible or is so faded it can hardly be read.

The first belt change can perhaps be left to the recommended interval with a minimum but rapidly increasing risk I feel subsequent belt change intervals should be increasingly reduced.

I just bought a Kia Carens Diesel Auto 2003 model LX. Can you tell me if this has a cam belt or a chain? If a cam belt, what are the recommended miles to get a new belt fitted?

check the timing cover and if it is plastic it will be a belt operation. If it is aluminium and sealed off then it will be a chain. Belts are recommended for a change at 60.000 miles (100.000 klms) but this depends on driving conditions ( constant high rpms) and oil on the belts ( oil reduces the servicability of a rubber belt considerably)

2002 volvo s60 cylinder 3 misfire detected

I have a bad feeling. I own a Volvo SW XC70 and I had to change the timing belt because I didn't want to have to buy a new engine. I changed it at around 150K miles. The belt is a composite and is not a chain (metal), so it can stretch, thus giving you "bad" timing and making it impossible to tune. If you have not checked or changed the belt, try it. It really won't cost that much (depending on where you take it. I went to Volvo. Good luck.

I have a 1984 dodge ram pick up with the mitsubishi motor and i was woindering if the timeing was belt or chain

1984 years came with the 2.0L, 2.6L gasoline and 2.3 diesel engines.

It's most likely a timing belt, but read further for more info. Recommended to be replaced at 60,000 miles (96,000 km) on gasoline engines and on diesel engines at 50,000 miles (80,000 km).

The 2.0 L Engine have two timing belts. One connects the crankshaft and camshaft, the second one drives the right silent shaft.

The 2.6L engine has a timing chain and a silent shaft chain.

Please check to see which particular engine you have and refer to the above for your answer.
