SOURCE: 2001 Chrysler starting problem

fuses are'nt linked to startor that's a relay as I have mine ran to a car-PC with voice start. ANyhow you would need to look up in owners book fuse location chart. What fuse socket that keeps blowing runs to, my guess is it blows before you start car as soon as your ignition goes to accessory then it kicks on that fuse bank. DO NOT STICK BIGGER FUSE IN AS THIS COULD CAUSE FIRE. first find out what that fuse controls.. is it the fuel system, radio, PCM ect.. could be a ignition fuse but these tend to be bigger what size is the fuse you blow?

SOURCE: Can't find the timing marks on '97 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6

Crank mark is obvious but cam marks arent. There are two notches in the tin timing covers behind the cam gears. At about the 2 oclock positions

Testimonial: "Thanks! Turns out we busted the valves when we tried to turn her over, but this would have been great advice if I had asked before hand."

SOURCE: 1999 Chrsler Sebring LXi v6 2.5L. Car dies.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L V6 Convertable. It started stalling at intersections; would lose RPMs' and die while driving it; and would not start unless it sat for a few minutes. Once it started, you'd have the scenario start all over again...

I hadn't kept up my maintenance schedule like I usually do, so I did the usual; I replaced my spark plugs and wires, changed the oil and filters, ect...

Finally, after it doing the same thing and wasting a ton of time and frustration on the side of the road, I took it to a mechanic that put it on his $9,000 diagnostic machine. The verdict; CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR!

The Haynes Manual will tell you wrong on its location for the 1999 Lxi 2.5L V6 convertable; it is NOT LOCATED BEHIND THE BATTERY TRAY. The crankshaft position sensor is actually located about 4 to 6 inches below the distributor, which is about dead center of the motor, on the transaxle housing.

You do have to take off the tire and the skirt cover to get to it. I had to purchase two long socket extensions just to get to the bolt that mounts the sensor to the transaxle housing; but it was well worth the 20 bucks...

All in all, it took me three hours to find the damn thing, and then to figure out what I needed to take the old one off and get the new one installed.

The $65 dollars that I spent to find out what the problem was is worth it....

Now, the car runs better than ever....

97 chrysler sebring starts sometimes after turning key several times, sometimes the first time, hear clicking and starter has been tested and is fine.

Check the positive wire to the starter... Then check the starter for a bad engine ground . By taking a test light to the positive terminal and touching the case of the starter and have someone crank the car( in the no start state) if the test light lights up , then you know you have a faulty ground

My fuel/starter fuse has blown twice 20 amp

You have a shorted wiring harness, disconnect the components that the fuse supplies power to one at a time, then when u isolate the wiring to that component look for worn bare wiring that is touching any metal of the chassis. Fuses don't age.
