G8D711S is not alarm system. This is Daytime Running Light module. You can pull out the connector, your front lights won't work when an engine start.

My GV 2002 has a Autostart AS1203 alarm system. There is a description on Internet.

SOURCE: 1997 suzuki vitara. new battery now car wont start.

Assuming the terminals are hooked up correctly, are your cable ends corroded? Are you sure the fittings are clean and tight? If it was hooked up backward check your fuse box and hope it only fried some fuses.

SOURCE: can't find the fuse box under the driver's side dash on my 2000 suzuki grand vitara. my radio/clock not working and dome light does not come on when the driver's side door is opened.

Its below the Dashboard, on the left side of your knee. You have to use a torch & locate it from under the Dashboard, Its roughly near to the Clutch Pedal.
Here, it looks like this: (The Black one is the Fuse box) ba18901.jpg

SOURCE: key wont unlock door suzuki grand vitara

Not a car expert but have some common sense advice---is it possible the vehicle was re-keyed before you got it? Someone may have lost the original keys and resorted to just using the other feature---a year is a long time not to know about this---I should not talk as recently got a vehicle where owner said rear window would not open for last two years=that vehicle has child safety locks on rear doors that also disable windows--needless to say nothing wrong.

I would talk to Suzuki if the key box is a factory installed item to see if it has a way of locking the physical keys out.

Worth asking---if after market item it may have been installed in a way that causes this issue.

I had a new key made for my 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. It works in the door but won't turn the ignition switch.

It would surprise me if the car didn't require a chip in the key being a 2006 model, the reason it works on the door is because the door lock doesn't have the chip reading equipment which is fitted to the ignition system, it relies purely on the lock tumbler, the key will fit in and turn the ignition but the car won't start

2. Open the driver's door.
3. Within 10 seconds, Insert key into ignition turn to ON position and back to OFF and remove the key.

5. Within 10 seconds, insert key into ignition turn to ON position and back to OFF and remove the key.
6. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the same remote for at least 5 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock (that's a very good sign)
7. Within 5 seconds, press the LOCK button on the same remote and release. You just programmed your remote ??
