Battery was probably discharged to the poi t of being damaged. An autoparts shop should be able to test and confirm this. It's possible that a battery conditioner type charger (which most stores have..MAY be able to revive it) chances are you will need a new battery.

Clean the cable connectors and posts of any corrosion. Dull posts can create resistance. You want a good connection not only on the positive post but also the negative post and connections. Mouse Pads Choosing The Best Pad For Your Computing Needs AmanStino

If you have a battery that is charged from a different vehicle, try to use it by connecting it directly to the cables after removing the existing drained battery. Jumper cables will not normally jump a dead battery as you have described. Once the engine starts, remove the battery while the engine is still running. The alternator will provide all current required to run the vehicle. Reconnect the original (drained) battery and go for a drive. Hopefully, you can do this during the day and without any auxiliary items (AC, radio or headlights, etc.) running.

Clean the cable connectors and posts of any corrosion. Dull posts can create resistance. You want a good connection not only on the positive post but also the negative post and connections. Cold weather can aggravate issues if the battery is old and in need of replacement. Hope this helps.

Maybe the deep discharge on battery trashed it and now it will not take a charge. Sure the charger is working? Give it enough time to charge the battery - at least five hours.

Dash light would not come on at night

Most of the time that problem lies in the headlight switch. Check your fuse for dash lights also. does your dome light come on?

Intermittently have to use charger to start.

the most common cause of this by far is lights left on by defective switchs, these include the map lights in the visors, the glove box light due to a defective switch, the trunk light and the hood light if equipped, check it at night and look for a faint glow, the other much less common cause is the alternator has a defective diode and allows a small current to pass to ground drawing the battery down..
