SOURCE: GM 2.8 Liter Engine ECM/Coil will produce spark

does a 85 have a ECU unit ??? sounds like it could be the switching transistor thats either under the coil or inside the distributor should look like a black plastic casing with 3/4 wires running to it then to the coil look at this first as often motor runs ,stop for a quickie somewhere and jump back in and engine will not fire up ,classic symptons

SOURCE: 2006 mercury milan 3.0 motor,no.4 cyl.will burn

did you replace the coil? and if you did was the 1st coil burned the same way? what is the resistance in the coil across the terminals and from secondary out put ( were it plugs on the spark plug ) to each of the plug in terminals. get this info and get back with me and we will see what we can do to get to the bottom of this mystery.

First is year make and model. A U code is data communication codes. Sorry to say, you could have done all this and it could have just been a bad wire.

Missing on number 3 cyl

no enough information but here goes
missing can be mechanical ---burnt valve
can be faulty injector or injector control-- injector or ECM wire
HT lead
crack in distributor cap --if not multi coiled
coil if multi coiled
plug as a last resort as most plugs will outlast the engine

2004 Sorento began with code P0305, cyl #5 misfire. Inspected and replaced plugs, wires, and coil pack on cyl #2. Repair shop told me cyl #5 injector bad so they replaced. Still has misfire.I suggeste

If you had code P0305, I don't know why they would have done anything to the #2 cylinder but if they have already replaced the plugs, wires and injector; here are a few more items to check:
1) Check connections from ECM. Look for any corrosions or bent/broken pins.
2) Check the fuel line pressure
3) Check the engine compression
4) And if the above are good, then you will probably have a defective ECM

94 transport engine miss

Have a compression test done on the engine. Check for burnt valve or bent valve on that cylinder.

Wher is the ignition control module located in a jeep grand cherokee lorado

6 or 8 cylinder? Either way the computer (ECM) controls the coils. 6 cyl has a 'coil rail' and 8 cyl had individual coils on each cylinder. There are crankshaft and camshaft sensors that tell the ecm when to fire each cylinder

1991 cutlass 2.3l DOHC no fire to #1 cyl

Since only cylinder #1 has unburned fuel, then the coil must be working. It could be the cable from the coil to the the # 1 spark plug, or you have burned valves in this cylinder.

All of the sudden my check engine light, my VSC light, and my TRAC OFF light came on. Any thoughts?

You need to have the ecm scanned for codes. The VSC and TRAC OFF lights are one just because the Check engine light is on. Once you clear the code in the ecm they will go off too.
