SOURCE: ABS & traction control just went out on 2008 Ford Escape.

Chances are it is a bad ABS sensor. Need to get scanned to know for sure and which one.

2008 ford escape when the abs light is on i have no brakes what can fix this

You need a mechanic with a high level scan tool to check the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Live Data. It is probably ABS Sensor related, but should never leave you with no brakes..

Fix abs light to go off and 4wh drive light flashing

The ABS is connected to the traction control system. When the ABS fails that light flashes and so does the 4 wheel drive. The problem could be a lot of things: Wrong or worn tires, under inflated tires, bad sensor at the wheel, brake system problem.

ABS/ Traction control light/BAS & brake light on in 2008 dodge grand caravan

It is safe to drive. You need a scan tool to get a code out of it. Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor going bad. All of these lights will work together normally. The traction control uses the ABS to gain traction, and the Brake Assist System is part of the stability control. Also uses the ABS.

Had brake work done, then ABS and traction lights come on then Escape hardly runs now?

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

2008 ford escape abs and traction control light is on, if the car sets over night the traction control light and abs lite doesn't come on until a few minutes and after the car sits around awhile the...

2008 Escape has a terrible reputation for ABS light and traction control light being. All due to broken ABS tone ring cracked and out of position flopping on frt bearing. Go to local AutoZone store and they will scan this to find which wheel has the broken tone ring. The replacement ring is cheap in the $7 range. It is labor that will sicken you as this ring must be pressed on after the front half shaft is removed. Not a driveway job if you are considering DYI.

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus x that went into limp mode while I was pulling onto a 4 lane highway. Nearly hit by semi this is not a "safe mode" The traction control light started blinking and the...

I have run into this on several fords this winter. What I have found in all of them is that a speed sensor had not necessarily failed but was no longer providing the correct information. The traction control saw this as "wheel spin" and started to apply the brakes to the wheels that where "spinning" although they where not.

Since this happened from a dead stop the ABS would not see the fault because all of the sensors started at 0 mph and only one stayed at 0mph and according to the programming this is perceived as wheel spin.

The pop and grind was the abs system kicking in. The traction control system uses the ABS system to control wheel spin.

If the system did not act up at the shop than there is no way they will be able to resolve it until it happens for them. All the ones I have dealt with have had no trouble codes but the symptoms where present and like you found out nearly impossible move (to pull into the shop)
