I don't know the Tercel in detail, but if you have a cable operated hot water valve at the firewall, that may have a broken or loose cable.

Less commonly the rubber supply hoses can go soft and collapse.

Engine running cold. I noticed my 99 Altima would start running at normal temperature but when I turned on the heater the thermostat gauge would drop to cold and not blow any hot air. Is it a faulty...

-Thermostat is not control the heater. It control only temperature in the engine.
-If you have no heater then check the following:
Make sure engine is cold before perform check.
-Check radiator is full of water or not. If not then fill it up
and try run like normal and turn on the heater.
-If now you have heat then you're done.
-But still no heat yet then cheek:
The heater valve. Is it open properly when you switch to hot or cold? If yes then NOT THE VALVE. Next lose both heater hoses from the engine and flush with garden water hose from one end and the other until you see water come out either end. Now connect back to the engine and top of the radiator more water.
You should be good to go now.

Good luck and stay warm

03 bonneville that only blows out heat once in a while

Could be a lot of things (i.e. thermostat, heater control valve...) Does the temperature gauge reach normal (1/2 way) temps?
Check to see if the control valve is working. Here's one way to do it. On the passengers side, remote the lower panel just under the glove box. Should be a couple of plastic pins holding it in. With the car running at normal temperature, move the hot/cold slider lever to HOT, then to cold slowly and see if the valve (located on top of the heater core) is moving. I "think" the heater control panel is vacuum operated and you may have a split in the plastic hose(s). Listen for a vacuum leak...
Good Luck. I hope this helps.

Heat is not coming inside the car when heater is put on

- Ensure that the temperature gauge stays at the middle at operating temperature.
- Check the heater control valve operation, control cable and thermostat.
- Check the heater pipes routing.
- Check the heater radiator for clogged.

3.3v6 94 plymouth chrysler heater not blowing hot but seems but seems heat up when fan turns on but fan not staying on long

I do believe that you have a thermostat problem. If you have a temperature gauge in the dash, I'm guessing that it mostly shows a lower than normal temperature. If the thermostat is working correctly, the engine will maintain a very constant, normal temperature. If your engine temperature is showing normal, and you still are not getting sufficient heat, then you have something else wrong in regards to the heater controls and valves.

Temperature guage doesn't work and heat blows cold

Check the thermostat. It sounds as though it's stuck in the open position. Fuel comsumpion increases as well.

No heat/defrost 01 corolla

Sounds like you have air trapped in the heater core when you flushed the heater core. loosen the upper most heater core hose and run the engine untill coolant seeps out. Wait until the coolant has reached running temperature.

1998 Tercel Cold heat to the windshield. Lukewarm out front vent.

Hey,

I just replaced my thermostat in my car due to the same problem. Except mine was a 92. I figured I'd start with the thermostat and antifreeze. Then the heating core. Now I have heat.

But yet I still have no heat on the windshield.

My 1994 Mercedes E class 300 Diesel there is no heat

Check your fuses first.Does the temperature gauge read normal operating temperature (at least 80 degrees Celsius) if not replace your thermostat.  Does the car have any heat while driving at higher RPM's? If so then you have a bad circulation pump. There is also a hot water valve (mono valve) that could be stuck in the closed position and not letting any hot water flow to the heater core.
