The sensor is located on the left hand rear side of the block (near the bell housing). It is held in place by a 10mm bolt. It's to the right of the exhaust manifold (LH - radiator side) on the V6. Once you purchase the new sensor you'll be able to identify it on the engine. The connector to this sensor is located in the illustration.

How to Program Keyless Entry Remotes in a Hyundai Sonata By Christian Killian, eHow Contributor
20Found This Helpful The keyless entry system in your Hyundai Sonata is part of the factory alarm system. If you have to replace a lost or damaged remote, reprogramming will be necessary. The remote is important because not only does it lock and unlock the doors, it also arms and disarms that factory alarm when you open or close your car doors. New remotes are available from any Hyundai dealer. While they will program it for you, you can do it yourself and save a programming fee.

Step 1: Locate the fuse panel under the dash on the driver's side of the car. Just below it is the control module for the factory alarm system. Open the cover on the alarm system control module and locate the memory switch inside.

Hyundai sonata will noy shift out of park

Can you shift out of park if you don't start the engine ?
Often times the brake light switch is faulty or the solenoid that locks the shifter. Sometimes the shifter can be moved if the key lock is turned but not to the on position.

Sonata brake lights stay on, assume faulty switch, where is it to change?

The brake light switch should be on the brake pedal near the top. Look for a circular item or box with 2 or 4 wires coming out of it at the top end of the brake pedal.

Kelli says to move switch for dome light to dome for door activation on '08 Sonata, but I see no such switch. Where is it?

That particular switch is on the dome light itself. It'll have three settings, Off, On, and Dome. Just like it says, the Off position makes sure the dome light never comes on, the On position makes sure the dome light is always on and the Dome position makes sure the dome light comes on when you open the door.
