There is no reset, if the light is on and/or you have a no start condition then you need it tested to determine the cause.

Just one chance for a reset. This only if everything with security is till working. Lock the car down, all doors and hoods. unlock it with the FOB. This will disable the security. This can happen with dead batteries are a battery swap. Otherwise the system has to be scanned to what happened. You can fix wiring or replace the receiver with out having it reprogrammed.

Bad advice, there is a procedure to reprogram the receiver to your fobs. The real problem is likely the PATS (passive anti theft system) is not recognizing the key. try another key you already have as a spare or call a locksmith or have it towed to a ford dealer, they have software to program PATS to your key.

Well Steve is right about his answer and so is randy but if you disconnected the cars battery and now it's in theft mode you must use the key fob to get it out if you don't have one or your fobs battery is dead get one or a battery for yours if it still doesn't work after this it needs to be programmed back into the system to do this you quickly turn the ignition key on and off multiple times until you hear the door locks cycle then real fast press any button on the fob it will now be in the system and will pull it out of theft mode also check your key if it's an aftermarket one like ilco it might have a battery inside it to help the signal transfer to the transmitter you can tell if the keys case is real big and has a u shaped clip where the actual key blade is you will see a tab on each side just push in and the keyes will come apart revealing the battery be car e full not to break those tabs good luck stephen

Oh yeah after programming the key fob or battery change you might have to disconnect the car battery again and when the alarm sounds or as soon as you connect the cables use the fob to stop it and your problems should be over

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start
