If you are using CD-R (cd's you burned yourself) you have to burn them at a slower speed. most cd's are around 40x burn them at a slower speed such as 10x or 8x since car cd players back then were not designed to read CD's at speeds that car CD players read today. I tested this on my 97 saturn. it will not play CD-R at 40x but it will read them perfectly CD-R's that are burned at slower speeds

I have a RDS stereo and it won't play my cd's. It says player error

RESET YOUR PLAYER AT DEFAULT SETTINGS. SWITCH IT OFF. SWITCH IT ON AND INSERT CD. GIVE THE PLAYER TIME TO READ. DON'T PRESS ANY BUTTONS TILL IT COMPLETE IT'S READING. IT WILL PLAY THE CD.

ALSO CHECK CD'S ARE BRANDED AND NOT COPY FROM COMPUTER. FEW COMPUTER WRITE CD NOT HAVE AUTO PLAY OPTION.

IF PROBLEM NOT SOLVE PLEASE INTIMATE.

CD Player will not play MP3s

Your cd player is not compatible with reading MP3 format...not all are.
You will have to get one that states its a Multi reader or more specifically MP3 compatible.

2002 Silverado- CD played ERR message

This is not a fuse problem, it may be a dirty laser lens or a broken loading mechanism, buy a CD player cleaner disk, if that won't work you will have to pull the unit out and send it in for repair at an authorized GM electronics repair station.
