Start with basic testing of electrical circuits ! Does it crank ? meaning when you turn the key to the start position does the engine spin but doesn't start and run or it doesn't do anything when you turn the key to the start position ? Battery good , cables an connections ?

The check valve on the fuel line at the filter housing may be leaking back not maintaining pressure when the engine is not running.

First off you can test the fuel pump 2 ways
1.have a assistant turn on the ign to on while you listen for the pump to run at the gas cap (gas cap off).
2.find the valve on the fuel rail looks like a a/c or valve stem, take the cap off and press the needle and if fuel comes out then it's not the fuel pump.

But from a lot of EXPERIANCE on dodge engines the stalling and restarting issue is ignition related i.e crank or cam sensor which will throw a diagnostic code of engine misfire xxx cylinders.

So If its one of those sensors then you will not have any spark, and staring fluids will not fire the engine.
As for the headlights flickering they get there power through a relay straight from the battery,so I would look at the relays under the hood and find the one for the headlights and swap it out with the horn relay as most of the relays will have the same numbers.

The crank sensor is about 70.00 and the cam sensor is about 50.
depending on where you get them (dealer or aftermarket)
the cam sensor is the round plastic thing under the dist cap,and the crank sensor is on the pass side under the head into the top of the transmission bell housing and it's a 2hr job to change because of it's location is really hard to get to.
Hint -take the breather off and place a rag over the intake and a board from the radiator core support to the intake to lay on,it has 2 10mm bolts and the wiring harness unplugs from underneath.

Bring it back to the transmission shop and have them test drive it with the scanner to see if the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) needs to be replaced. A worn TPS will case the transmission to have shifting problems, the TPE sends voltage signals to the PCM and will control the transmission shift points and firmness. If the TPS has a flat spot and the voltage is down at the point where the transmission needs to shift, there may be a conflict of shift program and needs to be addressed. Good luck and keep me posted.

2000 Dodge Stratus SE stalling and not restarting

Sounds like a broken wire probably close to where the computer is. I would inspect the harness here and then under and around the power distribution module (fuse and relay box under the hood) This can be removed for closer inspection of the contacts underneath.

Check all sensor connections especially the crank

Pull the MAP sensor plug connector out and try to start the car, if it starts and runs rough and then wont when the map is plugged in then replace it and you are a go.
I think this is your problem or fuel pump or the fuel pump wire is corroded typically where it connects to the harness and then goes into the body.
This is somewhere to start at least.

99 Dodge ram 2500 with cummins diesel stalled and won't restart. Changed fuel filter, and determined that there is fuel going to injector pump.

loosen one fuel line to one of the injectors, try to start the truck and look for the fuel to spray out of the line. it should spray rather hard if the injector pump is working right. if it just dribbles or trickles out you have a weak pump.

1973 dodge 318 truck starts and drives fine until 35-40 mph then dies

Sounds like a fuel supply problem. Does it pop through the carberator as it it is dying, like a lean back fire? If you drove it up a hill would it die before 35 or 40 mph? If the fuel demand excedes the fuel supply the engine will die, but would restart after cranking the engine for awhile. Possibly a plugged fuel filter, fuel line, rotten fuel hose, ( sucking air ) or tired fuel pump. Hope this helps.

1996 ram 1500 pickup stalled 5 minutes after i left driveway while driving and won't restart. Truck would never start if I hit the gas, but start every time if i don't. check engine light has been on and...

one possible problem is the fuel pump, you see, on this year model the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator is all in the tank. try this, if the truck wont start, leave the key on and pop the hood and look on the fuel rail for the fuel port and push it in, just like if you would if you were letting the air out of the tires, and see if you are getting fuel. another thing to check is the ASD relay in the power distribution box.
