SOURCE: how to fix a power steering leak for a chevy

Is the leak coming from a hose or from the pump itself...If its a hose, most likely the factory crimp clamps gave way...Pry them off and replace with a hose clamp...If it's the pump itself, then the diaphragm is most likely warn out, and the pump itself will need to be replaced...You should be able to tell easily where its leaking by turning on the vehicle, make sure the unit is full of fluid, and have someone turn the steering hard right or left and the pressure will cause the fluid to leak or stream out of the problem area...As a note if its a fairly strong leak/stream the over-the-counter stop leak products will not work...tg

SOURCE: 2001 chevrolet impala hard to turn steering wheel

This is a common problem with the 2001 Impala. The intermediate shaft in the steering needs to be lubricated or replaced. There is also a recall on some Impala's. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/results.cfm I suggest you take it to a trusted Chevy dealer and have this repaired.

SOURCE: My windshield wipers on my 2001 Chevy Impala stop

This is a very common problem on the Impalas. I had to fix my 2002 Impala. Both wipers will point straight up.
There is a tab that may be bent near the wiper motor shaft.
Open the hood.
You need to remove the driver's side wiper arm. You need to pop-off the round black cover and there's a nut underneath.
Then remove the plastic cover between the windshield and the engine compartment.
See the pictures below, Look for a bent TAB. it's really tough, but bend it back with pliers and/or big screwdriver. The "catch" needs to stop on the tab to park the wipers correctly.
If the tab is OK, look for a missing or broken spring. For that, you'll need to get the replacement part from the dealer. May be: park mechanism, part #12494832

if you bought it with any warranty go back to the dealer you bought it from. if you push on the horn pad and you hear a click noise then the chances are the horn itself is bad. a horn must work to pass a safety. it could also be a BCM problem.

Pull off the horn button in the center of the steering wheel. It sounds like the wire to the horn button is loose and grounding out inside the steering wheel. Might just need reattached and everything will work as it should. Whatever the problem is, it is in the steering column.

My horn doesnt work and my steering wheel is loose down on the inside of the steering calum. could the steering wheel be the problem for the horn not working?

it may well be the problem, you will need to remove the steering wheel to find why is has come loose, it might be a bearing that has collapsed & needs to be replaced or something may have broken......hope this helps......cheers.

most the time on the billet steering wheels you have to put a push button horn. if you ran a wire through column it would spin wire and eventually break it..

1995 Prizm Horn Problem

keep the steering wheel in one spot, do not rotate,  check horn by pressing pad in different areas.  If it is intermittent then horn pad is concern.  If it works well trying slowly turning steering wheel while pressing horn pad if there is a point in turning the wheel where horn becomes inop, then the common fault is the horn contact ring inside of the steering column
