You have to remove the headlight assembly to remove the turn light assemble. There are two mounting bolts that hold the headlight assembly to the frame that needs to be removed and one mounting bolt that holds the turn signal light assembly on the headlight assembly that needs to be removed. Once all three bolts (black plastic in colour with a wing nut) have been removed the headlight and turn signal assembly can just be removed. Take note that the assembly has a guild slot to be guild in place back when re installing the head light and turn signal assembly. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted and I'll try to explain in a different way if i was un clear, Harder to explain then doing the job it self.

How do you get access to change the front right turn signal bulb on a 2005 pontiac montana SV6?

Open the hood. If you cannot gain access, the grill of the vehical will have to be removed. This will give you access to the bulb.

I want to know how to change the bulb in my headlight of my 2005 pontiac montana?

1. Open the hood.

2. Remove the front turn signal/parking lamp
assembly. See Front Turn Signal, Sidemarker and
Parking Lamps on page 5-46.

3. Pull the assembly away from the vehicle.

4. Unscrew the black retainer ring that holds the bulb
assembly in place.

5. Pull the bulb assembly straight up from the
lamp housing.

6. Unhook the electrical connector by lifting up the
blue tabs and pulling the bulb out.

7. Install the new bulb through the black retainer ring
and into the electrical connector.

8. Tighten the black retainer ring in place. Push the
bulb firmly enough so that the blue tabs hook over
the tab on the bulb.

9. Carefully put the bulb assembly back into the lamp
housing. Be careful not to damage the bulb on the
headlamp aiming bar.

Replace front right turn signal bulb

I replaced the front right turn signal on my 2005 Pontiac Montana by reaching up from underneath. I tried removing the battery but the opening from above was too small. I was able to pull the ground effects open enough to get my arm in. When you reach the bulb holder feel for two wings on the bulb socket and give the whole socket a quarter turn to and it will release. The wires are long enough so the entire bulb holder will drop down below the vehicle so you can easily replace the bulb.
Reverse the step to put it back in. You will not be able to see what you are doing so I had someone guide me by watching from above. Took less than 10 minutes once I decided to change the bulb from the bottom. I did not need to jack the vehicle up or use ramps.

I have a 2000 pontiac montana and the lights are not working righ

If you live in a area in which salt is used on the roads, you probably have a corroded ground connection. These can be tough to find since there are several grounding points in most vehicles. When a ground fails, the current (the applied 12V) will find its own path to ground and can pass through different light bulbs on the way. If it was only the signal flasher creating problems, this can be caused by a single failed light bulb; the flashers are thermal devices and when the current is lower than it should be, the rapid flashing alerts you to the failure.
You might consider buying an after-market service manual from Haynes (my first choice) or Chilton. The manuals I have for our various vehicles give a general location for the grounding points; for example, 'Right side engine'

1998 pontiac transport/montana has not tail or break lights...turn signals blink fast or not at all. changed rear bulbs and noticed carbon on front build up on front bulbs. Help!

If one of the filaments in the bulbs is burned out, the remaining working lights will flash alot quicker.
Check the bulbs, and replace if the filaments are broken.
If the front bulb has a carbon build up it blown out...change it..
Once the bulbs are replaced your signals should work properly.
