Hi I have a Ford Focus 1.8tdci Zetec 2008 and it is leaking oil from the vacuum pump can this be the problem why my car is spluttering and losing power when I take off at the lights thanks

Pull out the spark plugs their is probably oil or water in the well surrounding plugs. Cheap eaasy fix for water just dry it out. oil? Replace valve cover gasket .

Check your power steering fluid level. If it is low that is probably what is causing the noise. The pump is running dry. If that is the problem it means you have a leak somewhere. I have had this issue with my Focus for awhile. I just check the fluid often. I don't fix things until I absolutely have to. Check your manual my Focus uses transmission fluid for the power steering system.

2009 Ford Focus Zetec, 1.8 diesal. ABS warning light,Steering Failure Assist light and Battery light all on. Can't steer car. Then takes twenty minutes to restart car. Any ideas?

If it's equipped with the 2.0L SPI engine (eighth digit of the VIN is 'P'), the most common place for a vacuum leak on these engines, is from the PCV hose that runs from the valve cover to the back of the throttle body. hi i have a 2001 1.6 zetec ford focus. the engine managment light is on and my car has bee leaking oil into the airbox on the floor and onto the gearbox coming from the rocker cover breather hose ( i have changed the camshaft breather hose and valve ) any suggestions ?

Most likley just the valve cover gasket.

it could be leaking via the air pollen filter box
try replacing the seal on the lid

your engine code means "big leak" in the evap control system, this system has alot of pieces, but you are looking for a vacuum leak most probably, look at your vacuum hoses, and refer to the vacuum diagram stuck under your hood for routing, see if you have a bad hose, or disconnected hose some where. these are small vacuum hoses that attach to the purge valve, air filter housing, and charcoal cannister. let me know what you find.
