Your speed sensor, is located on top of the transaxle, near the starter. To access it, remove the battery, then remove the battery tray (4 10mm bolts). You will see wires coming from the lower oxygen sensor, and they snap into the bracket that holds the speed sensor in place. The actual speed sensor has a 2 wire clip on it, and is held in place by the bracket and a 10mm bolt.

there are two sensors on your car, one is before your catylitic converter and just after the exhaust runners come together, it may be hidden due to your heat shield, the second one will be after the catylitic converter and will easiest to see from under the car, if you look onto the site for autozone you can see a picture of one and if they have the guide they sometimes have pictures too

I had a 2001 and the transmission was not shifting correctly that was diagnosed as a speed sensor issue.
There is a speed sensor on the transmission, near the rear.
And there is a speed sensor on one of the front wheel hubs...
Tell me what the problem is?

its ok to drive the car with the speedo out but you will have to watch your speed
