Sounds like one of your actuators are bad under your dash. Does yours have independent climate controls for passenger and driver? If not check under hood at passenger side and look for a bad vacuum hose near fire wall

My 88 Buick century starts but will barely run and it will die out after a few seconds

That description could be a whole bunch of things. It could be caused by anything from worn-out spark plugs to vacuum leaks, or just plain running out of gas. I would recommend scanning your engine controller to see if any fault codes have set that can lead you in the right direction.

Ac and heat air flow stuck in defrost postion up top .

The hvac blend doors are vacuum actuated. It takes vacuum from the intake manifold via a line that goes through the firewall just right (passenger side) of center. Open the hood and look for a disconnected or broken line in that area and repair as needed. The default position for the blend doors is the defrost position. When vacuum is lost you'll experience what you've described.

I have a 1988 Buick Century Custom with the 3.8 Liter V-6. It idles rough. Plugs are good Ing wires good. Any suggestions?

Check the wires for a good connection at the cap and plug, check the rotor and cap for condition and also look for a loose or broken vacuum line.

I have a 97 buick century limited and the air flow settings switch wont change how do I fix this? Example if I set it on vent and switch it to defrost it stays the same.

The "air / heat " door is either run by vacuum or motor.
The "defalt setting" is always on either defrost or heat.
I would say you may have lost vacuum to the control, or the control may be bad or a vaccum line is off.

1988 1500 series half ton. Air vents to mid dash and defroster won't open up. Heat and air blows on the floor only.

It sounds like the door on the defroster isn't opening. Check for a vacuum leak and also check the temp.control valve this should have several vacuum hoses coming from it. This valve controls all the doors, Bi-level, Defroster, and Floor positions.
