SOURCE: 1999 volvo radio code

To reset the radio you have to leave the key in position one (the radio will come on, but the dash lights are not on) with the radio on for at least two hours. It can take up to four hours to reset.
Make sure the climate control and blower are in the off position to keep the battery from running down. Eventually the radio will say "code". There is a four digit code that is unique to each radio, if you don't have it you must contact the local Volvo dealer and have your VIN code. The VIN code is locate on the far top/right side of the dash, you must be outside the car to see it. It will begin with something like YV1LS...................

When you get this code from the dealer you input the code using the radio preset (1-6 buttons). If the radio says code again that means it is the incorrect radio code. Most likely the radio has been replaced. Then it would be alot easier to take it to the dealer since the radio has to be removed and the serial number taken off the radio chassis unit. Usually most dealers will do it for free if they think you'll come back for services, so just tell them you just bought it and be nice, hopefully it will work.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Where is fuel filter on 1998 Volvo S70 non turbo?

the fuel filter is located underneath the rear passenger seat next to the canister box (the canister looks more like an air filter box housing. All you need is an 1/2 inch key to loosen one screw and pull on one end of the hose/tube to release it from the fuel filter. Pull opposite the unit. your best solution is to look to buy it on line so you have an idea as to what you are looking for then check against the info provided to you. I just did mine 15 mins. next to the rear tire. You will need to jack up the rear tire for easy access

1998 volvo s70 2.4 glt turbo

code p0102 refers to MAF/VAF sensor ---low input ===causes --wiring short to ground. MAF/VAF sensor
code po172 refers to system too rich --bank 1=== causes ---intake blocked --EVAP canister purge valve---fuel pressure ---HO2S sensor
code po random misfires ---plugs --wiring ---injectors--low compression
code po305 refers to cylinder 5 misfire detected ===causes --engine mechanical fault--ignition/ fuel system ---injector ---ECT/MAF

I would check that the air filter is not blocked first as it affects the MAF/VAF sensors . Have a fuel pressure system pressure test done

S70 GLT head replacement

the easiest way to remove the head is to completely remove the exhaust manifold from the engine and turbo assy. you CAN just unbolt it from the engine , but it takes a good bit of wiggling to get it off if you are leaving thre manifold in the car
