What should the cost estimate be to replace the flexplate on a 2009 dodge ram 1500 4wd 5.7 hemi?

Not considering the costs of parts themselves, the labor to remove and replace the transmission, torque converter and flexplate runs estimates at approximately 4.5 hours. If you have a skid plate and dual exhaust, add another .5 hour. At rates of approximately $80-100 USD per hour of labor, you are looking at $360.00-$500.00 labor, plus the cost of parts and fluids.

2004 ford f 150 5.4 3V pulled intake fixed vac hose came off replaced imrc & still show intake runner control closed bank 1 Still has no power when I get in it to pass something any ideas?

Is your check engine light on ? Any codes ?

There are three basic types of intake air sub-systems:

  • Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) electric actuated system

  • Intake Manifold Swirl Control (IMSC) vacuum actuated system

  • Intake Manifold Tuning Valve (IMTV)

These subsystems are used to provide increased intake airflow to improve torque, emissions and performance. The overall quantity of air metered to the engine is controlled by the throttle body.

Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Electric Actuated System
The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Electric Actuated system (Figure 107) consists of a remote mounted motorized actuator with an attaching cable for each housing on each bank. Some applications will use one cable for both banks. The cable or linkage attaches to the housing butterfly plate levers. The 2.0L (2V) Focus IMRC uses a motorized actuator mounted directly to a single housing without the use of a cable. Each IMRC housing is an aluminum casting with two intake air passages for each cylinder. One passage is always open and the other is opened and closed with a butterfly valve plate. The housing uses a return spring to hold the butterfly valve plates closed. The motorized actuator houses an internal switch or switches, depending on the application, to provide feedback to the PCM indicating cable and butterfly valve plate position.

Below approximately 3000 rpm, the motorized actuator will not be energized. This will allow the cable to fully extend and the butterfly valve plates to remain closed. Above approximately 3000 rpm, the motorized actuator will be energized. The attaching cable will pull the butterfly valve plates into the open position. Some vehicles will activate the IMRC near 1500 rpm.

WARNING: SUBSTANTIAL OPENING AND CLOSING TORQUE IS APPLIED BY THIS SYSTEM. TO PREVENT INJURY, BE CAREFUL TO KEEP FINGERS AWAY FROM LEVER MECHANISMS WHEN ACTUATED.

  1. The PCM uses the TP sensor and CKP signals to determine activation of the IMRC system. There must be a positive change in voltage from the TP sensor along with the increase in rpm to open the valve plates.

  1. The PCM uses the information from the input signals to control the IMRC motorized actuator based upon rpm and changes in throttle position.

  1. The PCM energizes the actuator to pull the butterfly plates open with the cable(s) or linkage.

  1. The IMRC housing contains butterfly plates to allow increased air flow.

Check your fuses, if that does not work, You may have to replace the "Power Door lock Actuator Motor."
It would cost you about $50.00 to $90.00 for actuator. However, you can go to ebay and type Universal Power Door lock Actuator.
It will cost you about $6.00 to $12.00 for the Actuator.
If you choose to replace the original Actuator, it will cost you a pretty penny, however, if you try the Universal Power Door Actuator it is easier to install than the original.
You may have to drill a hole in the door inside panel to secure it in place. You are going to have to connect the Universal Actuator wires. Disconnect the wire connection closer to the middle of the door and connect the Universal Actuator to the disconnected wires. you are going to have to peel the old disconnected wires so you can atach the new Universal Actuator wires to the peeled wires. You are going tohave to remove the inside door panel to perform this operation. You may want to do this yourself.

There is a loud clicking noise coming from behind the glovebox in my 2004 chev cavalier. The clicking happens whether the fan is on or not. However, I can get the clicking to stop if I turn the...

The clicking noise is caused by one of the electric actuator motors that opens and closes the airflow doors withing the AC/heater ducting, more than likely the door is sticking and this causes the motor gear drive to slip as the tiny Nylon gears slip by each other and you hear a click. As far as the cost goes I haven't worked on this particular model yet but likely the dash must be removed to service the problem parts, about $800.00 would be a ball park estimate. Contact your local GM dealer for a repair estimate.

Head gasket blown. What is approximate cost to

    Considerations
  1. Many internal engine problems, such as a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked piston, can be repaired without having to replace an entire engine.
  2. Potential
  3. While taking the time to replace an engine may seem labor-intensive and costly, it will add years to a vehicle's life and will save a car owner from the cost of having to buy a new car.
  4. Benefits
  5. Taking a car to a mechanic and replacing an engine with a used engine can cost between $1,000 to $2,000 for parts and labor.
  6. Solution
  7. Car owners interested in replacing their engines with new ones can expect to pay anywhere between $2,000 to $4,000.
  8. Speculation
  9. For those interested in doing the engine replacement themselves, purchasing specialized tools needed for the job is a cost to consider in addition to the price of a replacement engine.

My ac is blowing hot on one side and cold on the other. it is a 2004 chevy avalanche. i was told it is the actuator for both sides. how hard are those to replace and what actuators are they that i need to...

First of all I would find a new mechanic. That is outrageously pricey. Whatever side is blowing the hot air you need to change the temperature control door actuator. These can be difficult to get to and if installed wrong, you will have to jump through hoops to get the actuator ligned back up again. If you replace it; Make sure you bolt the new actuator in BEFORE you plug the connector in. If not, there is a whole long crazy proceedure you will need to do in order to get the actuator ligned up. But seriously if you don't want to attmept this yourself, find another mechanic ! ! Don't quote me on this, but if I remember correctly it should not be any more that 2 hours labor tops plus cost of the part.
