First off you can test the fuel pump 2 ways
1.have a assistant turn on the ign to on while you listen for the pump to run at the gas cap (gas cap off).
2.find the valve on the fuel rail looks like a a/c or valve stem, take the cap off and press the needle and if fuel comes out then it's not the fuel pump.

But from a lot of EXPERIANCE on dodge engines the stalling and restarting issue is ignition related i.e crank or cam sensor which will throw a diagnostic code of engine misfire xxx cylinders.

So If its one of those sensors then you will not have any spark, and staring fluids will not fire the engine.
As for the headlights flickering they get there power through a relay straight from the battery,so I would look at the relays under the hood and find the one for the headlights and swap it out with the horn relay as most of the relays will have the same numbers.

The crank sensor is about 70.00 and the cam sensor is about 50.
depending on where you get them (dealer or aftermarket)
the cam sensor is the round plastic thing under the dist cap,and the crank sensor is on the pass side under the head into the top of the transmission bell housing and it's a 2hr job to change because of it's location is really hard to get to.
Hint -take the breather off and place a rag over the intake and a board from the radiator core support to the intake to lay on,it has 2 10mm bolts and the wiring harness unplugs from underneath.

If the key is returning to  the 'Run' position as it should, then either a relay controlling the solenoid or the solenoid itself is hanging up. The heavy contacts that send power to the starter can develop rough surfaces that can temporarily weld themselves together causing the starter to run on even though the engine is running and the key has returned to the proper position. There is also a spring that should normally help return the solenoid's contacts to their 'off' position that may be weakened.

My 97 intrepid will start up, but putter out within seconds

Map Sensor or Crank Sensor. If you have a code reader the map sensor should throw a code, the crank sensor most often will not. Both will cause the car to start, idle to around 1,000 R's and then die.

2004 dodge intrepid wont move out of park

Usually a problem with the brake switch or the solenoid that locks the shifter in park.
You may be able to unlock the key switch without turning the switch on, then take the shifter out of park.

My Car takes too long to start or wont start at all. Please help!

I have been working on Chrysler products since the late 1960's. Your 2002 Dodge Intrepid has a computer control system. It is POSSIBLE to get diagnostic codes from your car, without a code reader. To do that, simply put the ignition key in, then rotate it clockwise to the run position, then back to off, then run, then off then run ... and watch for a blinking light on the dash. Assuming that is the check engine light, it will "blink the codes" to you! Count the ON (illuminated) blinks, until there is a short pause. That is the first digit of the first code. After the first pause, the blinks will be indicating the second digit of the first code. If you miss-count ... sorry, but you will have to start over. When you count five blinks, a short pause (maybe two seconds), then five more blinks, that is the "end of codes"
indicator. When you get all the codes, post them for analysis.

Parked my Intrepid for 5 days and now won't run (was ok before).

Does the engine turn over ? if not then check your battery/charging system....and check for anything that my have been left on or you may have some kind of a draw . if it does turn over then check for fuel pump activity by putting a hose down the filler neck and have someone turn the key to start...if you don't hear the buzzing noise of the pump turning then odds are it's your pump ...I hope this helps ...I can help you better if you describe exactly what the car is doing...is the check engine light on ? how well did it run before ? will it start up at all?

97 Intrepid 3.3L Click when attemp to start

Sounds like a starter problem. If a 'click' sound is heard when it won't turn over,it is probably the starter.
