My Neon was doing the same thing. After hours of trouble shooting it turned out to be my positive battery terminal. It looked good but after replacing I have not had any problems.

SOURCE: 89 reliant plymouth car stall out

You're right; It sounds like fuel delivery, but start with the simplest suspects first.
Change the fuel filter(s) first, and if this doesn't get it, go for the fuel pump.

Why does my 87 reliant stall when it gets hot

Not if you have spark. You may have increased resistance in the fuel injector circuit. I have read that liberal use of electrical contact (tv tuner) cleaner on the injector circuit connectors may cure this. You should measure the resistance through the injector terminals. Cold, it should be between .9 and 1.2 ohms. If all tests OK, you may have a bad injector driver in the computer.

Why does my 87 reliant stalls when it gets hot.

Yes, the pick-up coil was a common cause of what you describe.
Drive along and suddenly die, but by the time help arrived it would re-start, and run for a while again, then quit again until it cooled down.

Why does my 87 reliant stall when it gets hot?

Sounds like vapor lock. This means that fuel is being boiled before it reaches the engine. Check for loose insulation, gas line exposed to exhaust pipe, etc. basically your gas has to remain cool before it gets used by the engine.

1988 plymouth reliant won't start when trying to start the flywheel just spins like crazy what would be the problem?

So the flywheel is spinning but the engine is not? Sounds like a detached flywheel. Hopefully it is broken bolts and not a broken crank.

Start and stalls imediately

I would say ballast resistor, this is a resistor used to reduce power at the coil from 13.8 volt down to usually 9 volt. this allows an engine to have extra voltage for starting and run on the lower voltage. ballast resister faulty it runs out of spark when you disengage the starter

88 relient 2.5 engine starts then stalls starts then stalls etc.

sound like fuel issue, replace fuel filter, check fuel pressure should be 15 psi if fuel pressure okay the automatic speed control not working more likely.the ignition timing could be off also.if you see check engine code scan for fault codes.faulty egr valve cause engine to stall out.

I have a 1987 Plymouth Reliant LE station wagon 2.5 liter engine. When I was driving my car it started shaking like I lost power and I parked it in the driveway and I tried to start it but it won't start....

Has the "check engine " light come on? Are you familiar with the procedure of cycling key on, off, on, off, on and retrieving any trouble codes? Black plugs indicate a rich mixture. Couple of things come to mind but lets see if any codes first.
