Re: installed new battery, radio needs to programmed
The dealership can put in the loc code or you can search online. u will have to get some info off your radio and email it to them and they will give u the code. some only charge a $1

This is an after market radio so you might want to go back to square on and remove the radio. Put everything back and see if the issue is still there. If not you could have a bad radio that is cross circuit. .
More then like it's the instrument cluster . .Plus you probably have no idea of how complex these are . Has microprocessor inside with logic programmed in . Taking it to a qualified repair shop an having it diagnosed would be your best bet . Hooking up factory scan tool to see if the instrument cluster will communicate with the tool , an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's .Messing with thing's you have no clue about will only make it worst . YES , changing the PCM would need to be programmed ,dealer only .
If you have a fully charged battery when you installed then 14 volts is way to much charge for the battery which would mean that the alternator probably has a faulty regulator and the alternator needs to be changed otherwise you will continue to install new batteries. If the battery was in an uncharged state then it is possible for the alternator to charge at full capacity to charge up the battery.
Did you in stall it your self ? if so make sure you didnt blow fuses and check the connections make sure you are getting power and if you put subs and power amp and stuff like that make sure you have enough battery power to power everything if not the car wont even turn at all cuz the juice is working on its own to start the radio. check also you didnt cut any wires while doing so and if you didnt install it your self and took it in then take it back something went wrong maybe....
i had a 1995 c1500 and the wipers went out. i took it to the dealer and they took the radio out and put a new one in. the wipers worked fine. they told me that the radio controled 15 different things other than the radio its self. i would put the factory one back in and see if the problem continues. if it solves the problem i would get a harness from a installer that the local super center or an automotive store
I once took off the factory radio from my s10 99 chev blazer... to install an MP3 player... Then I sold the Mp3 player and had to reinstall the factory radio back on my blazer... It asked me for a code... and I didn't know where to find it... So I entered the year of my truck "1999" and it unlocked it. Try entering the Year of the model! It should work.
