SOURCE: were i the crankshaft position

near the oil filter.. above it...under exhaust manifold one small bolt holds it on. If the is a no start condition look for frayed wiring near crank sensor..... it has a harness that hangs too low on some of those. & rubs on cv shaft

SOURCE: location speed sensor pt cruiser 03 touring car do

It sounds like the module is in limp mode. The speed sensor is most likely the cause, but it can be some other things as well. A scan will give a code stating the problem area.

The speed sensors are on the side of the trasmission that faces the front of the vehicle. There are 2 of them, and they are the same sensor. One is an input speed sensor located closest to the engine, the other is the output speed sensor.

Engine should have two coolant temp sensors, one for the dash has only one wire while the one that speaks to the ECU has two wires. Try replacing the first one.

I have a 2001 Pt Cruiser. The coolant fan dosen't work when the sensor is connected. Does this mean I need a new sensor

Maybe.
A mechanic would watch the sensor with a scanner to see if it shows the correct engine temp. The computer takes the data and grounds the fan relay when the engine reaches 220 degrees.
Are you sure the coolant level is full ?

2001 pt cruiser over heating wired fan direct fan works but car still over heats replaced thermostat temp. sensor fuses etc...

Sounds like the engine head gasket needs to be replaced. The gasket has deteriated from the engine cylinder and coolant passage and overheating the coolant. Sometimes you will see coolant mixed with engine oil, or milky solution on the oil dipstick

The temperature sensor is located by the thermostat housing, it has two wiring coming out of it. The top unplugs and the bottom which is the sensor unscrews.
