1994 f350 standard cab 4x4 460 5-speed, intermittent starting issue. sometimes when i turn the key, i get nothing. i cycle the switch a few times, and might get lucky and the truck will start.

You have bade contact in the ignition switch .

Have you had the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) changed? Ford had issued a recall for the CPS on the 7.3 and the symptoms you describe sound like those when the CPS starts becomming intermittent.

WELL LACK OF POWER NOT REACHING TOP SPEED.YOU COULD HAVE OBSTRUCTED EXHAUST.CLOGGED FUEL FILTER.DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTION PUMP OR INJECTION PUMP TIMING OFF.DEFECTIVE TURBOCHARGER OR WASTEGATE.

Did you check for power at the switches. Are you sure the fuses are ok. Sometimes the wires break because of opening the door. You will have to inspect the harness and maybe have to remove the door panel. Most likely its a driver door wiring issue or the fuse.

Saturn Ion's have a problem with the starter switch in the steering column. The security feature built into the key is a small resistor. When the key is inserted, the engine computer 'reads' the resistance and accepts the key as valid. The problem is that the pin that the key contacts is gummed up INSIDE the ignition switch. A new switch will fix the problem but Saturn won't cover the replacement though they have issued a tech bulltein on the problem.

The other fix that I did based on an Internet search is to cut the small 24 ga white wire coming from the ignition switch WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. The engine computer defaults to the run mode and will no longer look for the key verification. The small key symbol remains lit on the dash but the car starts everytime. Small price to pay. The real answer is that Saturn should replace or discount the repair due to HEAVY grease in the switch the gums up over time. Under 40 degrees, the connection is lost to the computer.

remove the casing from around the colume and theres retainer scews under the ignition switch remove them and leave your key in and turn back ward towars then acc position

Check to see if there is power to the glow plugs when the key is switched to the on position.

ITS ROUGH FROM HERE BUT THAT SOUND LIKE A BAD ELECTRICALL CONNECTION......SOMEWHERE IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM.BATTERY,STARTER? OR THE STARTER ITSELF.ARE ALL THE OTHE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORKING?

Check to see if your truck was recalled for a faulty cam shaft sensor. Some sensors develop hair line cracks which allow contaminants to get in and the sensor becomes intermittent. The symptoms can include sudden shutdown of the engine so a recall was issued.
