Check your transmission fluid level asap. if the level is good, you will need to inspect the shift solenoids located inside the transmission pan. replace any solenoids that are proven to be faulty. i would also advise to test the pcm/tcm for its operational value as well. this device controls the shifting patterns of the auto trans.
while checking the solenoids, if you notice any metal fragments on the bottom of the pan, this will be a sign of major gear friction. you should re build in this case.

I know how to fix you're problem.... Get some Fosgate 12'inch sub woofers With a 2 channle amp and some Boston speakers with a 4 channle amp ,. :) You Will NEVER hear the sound again.... . :)
I don't think it's a normal sound at all but,
........................... I can't really tell you, seeming i didn't
build the car lol , Does it make the sound after the car is off?
And if it is normal..... Then you should go get a Corolla lol
Did you ask them why it makes the sound it does? And what did they
say? I seem to find most people that work at the dealers are morons. And all they do is well... we can check it out for you 200$.. lol Then tell you we couldn't find it, :<
Best of Luck

The 5sfe is notorious for distributor problems. You'll get correct resistance readings on the primary and secondary coils, but your spark looks weak. Should see a bright blue spark with an audible POP when sparking. On some 5sfe engines, the coils are located in an all-in-one pacakage inside the distributor. You'll know if you have this one if the only large spark plug type wires connected to the distributor cap count 4 and go to the 4 cylinders. There will not be a center wire coming from a coil. This is the distributor that has issues. I am on my third one now. Same symptoms every time. I know exactly what to change when it happens, and it fixes it every time. Luckily, It's only about $95 if you do your searching well enough. Good luck
SOURCE: 2006 Toyota Corolla, every morning there is
The problem is the rear motor mount is filled with hydraulic fluid that leaks onto the accessory drive belt. The motor mounts fail prematurely and the fluid makes the belt squeak. Toyota dealership I took my 2006 Corolla to replaced the motor mount and belt free of charge.
