Do you already have access to your blower motor? If so you should find the resistor on the motor housing where the blower output is located. It will have wiring plugged into it. When you remove it it should look like a heatsink.
To replace disconnect battery neg cable then: 1. Remove glovebox door 2. Remove fusbox by disconnect all multiplugs, then remove all torx screws securing fusebox then set aside 3. remove footwell air distribution tube off of heater box 4. disconnect multiplug off of blower resistor, remove resistor/replace, 5. Refit all components
There is a resistor pack that controls the fan speed switches. Not sure about the 2000 Disco but on Range rovers of that era it is under the cover below the decker panel.- namely at the rear of the bonnet. Check that it actually is there, then get back to me and I'll post details of how to replace it
Disconnect the plugin wires to rad. fan and test for voltage to plug. Using an ohmmeter, see if the fan connection is open. If open,replace motor.If no voltage, check fuse,relay, and wiring and possibly the switch for loss of power.While moving,the air passes through condensor to make it work but in traffic and at stop,not enough air to remove heat from condensor.
Cig fuse is F10 (15amp fuse) and the fuse box is located behind the driver's side cubby box. Passenger Compartment Fuse Box - behind the driver side cubby box
