SOURCE: timing degree nissan sentra

Step1 First step is to open your hood on your vehicle and locate the distributor. Step2 Next loosen your distributor just enough that it will turn from side to side with some resistance. Step3After Loosening the distributor take a piece of chalk and mark on theharmonic balancer the timing mark so it can be seen easily. Step4Then take the timing light and connect it to the battery and the Numberone spark plug wire. Then have your helper start the vehicle while youshine the timing light on the harmonic balance and the timing mark onthe timing chainmag-glass_10x10.gif cover. Step5The Timing Light will illuminate the mark on the harmonic balancer whenthe Number one cylinder is firing. The mark should correspond to thetiming mark on the timing chain cover. You can then adjust the timingforward or backwards by rotating the distributor ever so slightly. Step6 When you have the timing where you want it then shut off the engine and carefully tighten back down the distributor without moving it.

SOURCE: remove back speaker nissan sentra se-r

I recommend trying to access from the trunk first, There should be 4 screws there to remove. If not, then the grille on top of the speaker should be able to be pulled off and then remove 4 speaker screws from there.

My 86 nissan sentra is starving for fuel and lugging out, on take off and when backing off the throttle at highway speeds, i am wanting to know where the fuel pump is and all the relays and fuses so i can...

I don't know what relays and fuses you want to check, but your 1988 Nissan Sentra is equipped with a mechanical fuel pump which is located on the rear of the engine under the intake manifold.
Your vehicle is also carbureted, not fuel-injected, so If I had your vehicle and it was lugging out on take-off, I would be looking at the accelerator pump in the carburetor, not the fuel pump.
It is SUPPOSED to be starved for fuel when backing off of the throttle.
Have you checked the fuel filter to see if it is clogged?

You want to wipe off the links of the lower timing chain next to the timing marks on the sprocket and put paint marks on the timing chain matching them with the timing marks on the idler sprocket and crankshaft sprocket.

Do i need to tune up nissan sentra 1996 model. i do not notice any problem. what is the cost to do a tune up

A tune up consists of the followig: -Spark plug replacement -Air filter cleaning/replacement -Fuel Filter replacement -Engine timing correction.
So yes, you must do a tune up every once in a while and a must before an emissions evaluation. It's not very costly and can be easily affordable by someone who can purchase gas for everyday use. For a 1996 Nissan Sentra, most of the cost will come from the spark plug that you will buy and the labor cost for correcting the timing of the vehicle.

HAVING PROBLE WITH MY 1994 NISSAN SENTRA MISSING PUT NEW SPARK PLUGE BUT DID NOT WORK WHEN TAKE THEM OUT HAVE OIL ON

You have a cylinder head gasket leak, or maybe the car needs the timing set. Either way do not run the car. Have the timing checked, and go from there.

WHAT IS THE PROPER TIMING ON A NISSAN 2400 1992

whyknot87: As far as I know, Nissan did not put a 2400 in a Sentra in 1992 or for that matter any year that I am aware of.
The Sentra had an SR20DE Which was a dual overhead cam engine.
According to Nissan, setting the timing on this engine requires the use of a scan tool as part of the procedure. There is no procedure for setting it without a scann tool.
The timing for this engine is 15 dedrees +/- 2 degrees @700RPM

The other engine this year Sentra used was a GA16DE
which was also a dual overhead cam engine.
This one could be set in a conventional manner with a regular timing light. You must have the engine at normal operating temp.
Disconnect the throttle switch and then you set the timing to
10 degrees +/_ 2 degrees @700RPM

The 2400 engine you probably are referring to is the KA24DE which came in Nissan 240SX and the Nissan Stanza. There are procedures for setting these as well, however I need to know wha4t car and engine you have?
The 2400 had 15 degrees +/- 2 degrees @700RPM
