If I recall, that is a rather small filter. There would be a filter remover that fits over the end of the filter and is turned with a ratchet wrench. They are called oil filter cap wrench, at any parts store. There are about 3 different sizes of oil filters, so you need to find the proper fit for your filter.
You put the cap over the end of the filter and use a 3/8 drive ratchet wrench to turn the filter counter clockwise to remove. Once off, wipe the filter surface clean with a rag. then put fresh oil on the new filter's rubber gasket and install only hand tight-as tight as you can get your hands to turn the filter. OR, you spin new filter on till the rubber gasket touches the base of the engine block. then turn filter 3/4 turn more.
