The chime usually goes with the door latch. What did you replace? You may have not got the electrical plug seated or a lead has pushed out.

Door will not open 2002 x type jaguar

The cable that goes to the inside door handle has fallen off, you have to remove the inner panel and look at the back of the handle, you should see a cable, most likely the cable fell off the retaining slot. Just push it back on until it bottoms out and replace the panel. This is common with door slamming, on x-types.

I had to put a new battery in my remote that I use to unlock the doors on my 2002 xtype Jaguar. Since changing the battery I can not get it to operate. How do I reset it?

http://www.bluejag.co.uk/X-Type-keyfob-reprogramming.php

copy/pasted from the above link..

"Programming or pairing a new remote Keyfob for the X Type is a very simple job that will cost a substantial amount if it is done by Jaguar. It's annoying but this may need to be done if your Keyfob battery has been allowed to go flat, or the car battery has been removed for any length of time.
Follow these steps exactly and you should have no problems, pairing old or replacement Keyfobs for your car.

1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide).
2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door.
3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I.
4.)Wait 5 seconds
5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times.
6.)You should hear a single chime.
7.)Remove the Key
8.)For each Keyfob in rapid succesion. Press any single button on the keyfob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Keyfob is paired with the security system. After the chime do the next Keyfob.
9.)Check operation of each Keyfob. "

Hope it works for you!

TRYING TO FIX A DOOR CHIME ON A 2002 PONTIAC SUNFIRE. NEED TO LOCATE WHERE DOOR CHIME IS LOCATED ON THIS VEHICLE

In most vehicles the "chime" is located in the dash around where your 4 way flaser is. It could simply be the door switch also which is a little button that depresses when you close the door to open the circuit shutting the dome light and chime off. They are easy to change and inexpensive. Hope that helps.

Jaguar x type 4 door. how to remove inteior rear panel to replace speaker

There are 2 or 3 screws under the panel and other one behind the handle (not the one to open the door, the one you grab to close the door) this one is covered by a round plastic tap, remove it first with a small sharp pointed tool, then very carefully try to pull out the entire panel, be very careful not to broke the clips, you also need to "unplug" the wire that opens and close the locks.

2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working car locked and alarmed if i use key in the door will the alarm go off if so how do i stop it

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

Remove rear door panel on x type jaguar

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

1988 jaguar and cannot open doors from outside

need to remove the interior door panels and check all the linkages. One of them is a brittle plastic linkage that is famous for breaking, and bits get caught up in the travel path of the door handle. I had taht issue, and rebult all mine with aftermarket plastic linkages, and the metal parts I pulled from junkyard cars. No way to fix it without removing the interior door panels, but that is thankfully a pretty easy job.
