Sounds like your firing!
Be sure that your crankshaft is not wet, oil coated, or just plain out needs replacing. I'm almost certain this would fix your problem.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Expedition won't start after changeing ignition.

Yes. You have to take the car to a ford dealer and have the new key programmed. This should solve your problem. Good luck.

SOURCE: I am having a no start no crank problem with my

I am experiencing the same issue with my 2001 expeditiion. Just curious... after the vehicle has been running hot for a while and you park and shut the motor, then it won't restart? Unless I wait for approx 1/2 hour when motor has cooled then it starts up. I have had mechanics check the fuel line and the fuel seems to "vapor lock". The fuel pump may need repaired/replaced. I am not experiencing and electrical issue. This is a fuel intake issue.

SOURCE: how to change spark plugs on a ford expedition

I recently changed them and it was a job when you have to crawl up and inside the engine area. But anyways, I started out by buying the E3 plugs, which don't have to be gapped and they do save a little gas plus increased in a little more power. (not much), These set me back $56. go with a basic motorcraft platinum or bosch platinum. I then removed the top engine cover, removed bolts for fuel rail and easily pulled the injector rail up (you will see to replace the o-rings on the injectors by some people, but if you're careful you don't have to.) This gives you the room you need at the back of the engine to remove the plugs. I started at the front by removing the small bolt holding the coil in place, then removing the the coil/wire with a boot removal tool. ( Again you don't need this tool, but it comes in handy at the back plugs). After removing the coil, I simply remove the plug, Apply anti-seize to the new one and install plug. I then apply Di-Electric grease to the inside of the coil boot to prevent moisture getting in. I then install the coil back down on the plug and tighten down and move on to the next.
1. you will need a swivel for the socket
2. you will need an extension, ( I use a long 8" extension)
3. Anti-Seize Grease
4. Di-Electric Grease
5. If installing a plug to be gapped it is .54
6. After installing, check for fuel leaks at the injectors.

It took me about 1 1/2 hours to replace all plugs and a dealer charges about $375. Good Luck if you need any further help get back to me and I'll help any I can.

The liftgate ajar light stays on on my 2003 ford expedition. it closes and locks fine but i cant open my rear window. is the switch in the actuator itself?

Said safety switch would normally be positioned in the edge of the body seam where the gate can close it. Sounds like it just needs adjusted out closer to the gate. If no adjustment, put a washer of some kind under it. Washer can be anything as long as the switch body is touching metal to complete the circuit when you push it back in.

I have a 2003 Expedition 5.4L Triton. Two days ago, with low gas (38 miles to empty), engine started running rough. Code read P0302, misfire cyl. 2. Since it had 113K miles, I figured its time to change...

Most likely the coils. Easiest way to check is swap them with another cylinder, start it, pull the plug wire connecter and if it doesn't change the engine the coil is bad. If it is the injector, then you can check it with an ohm meter. Touch the leads in the injector it should read 11 to 15 ohms. if you need help let me know.

Where is the ignition solenoid located ona 2003 Ford Expedition XLT? Im helping a lady with her Expedition and im not a pro mechanic but Ive had my share or busted knuckles. The truck will turn over but...

Not positive on this but usually it's on the right side inner fender close to battery. If it's turning over it's not the solenoid, that is what controls the starter.

Trying to find out why 4th cylinder misfire is goiing on .plugs already been changed

These expeditions have a very famous TSB for the cops(coil on plugs) failing. When you replaced the spark plugs you had to pull these off before the plug came out, there is one per cylinder, and more than likely this is the problem. These run about sixty U.S. dollars a piece, and are very easy to replace.I hope I could help. Thanks for using Fixya!!! rate me accordingly

2003 expedition misfire on #5 cylinder...what should i do

Check the valves for that cylinder. Open the valve cover and turn the engine by hand and watch the valve as the 5th cylinder opens. Both the intake and out valves have to open then seal right back down. One of them may be stuck or burned out.
